The title of this article assumes some sort of special importance to the year 2012.  For any other year the answer to the question would likely produce blank stares with minds spinning trying to remember if December 21 was a  winter equinox or a solstice.  It is in fact one of the two dates in the northern hemisphere for winter solstice which is the longest night of the year (in some years it is the 22ND).  Historically it has always been the date for celebrating the expected return of the sun:  a time of transformation and rebirth.  But why is the winter solstice of 2012 more important than any other year?  Astronomically speaking there will be a completion of an alignment between the galactic equator and our Sun (which started around 1999).  This alignment will produce a major magnetic energy stream directed at earth.  It is this expected spear like stream of magnetic energy that produces speculation of a possible polar shift.  Many of the ‘doomsayers’ across the net, use the Mayan prophesy to support their conclusions.  The simple truth is that the only thing predicted by the Mayans for December 21, 2012 is a planet wide spiritual transformation.  It is actually an evolutionary shift of human consciousness from separateness to non-separateness: a greening of the mind.

The evolutionary shift is a refinement of the human species.  Essentially this means a world wide consciousness shift of pulling back from the ancient conclusions that mankind is a victim of random forces.  The shift that will result will be a replacement of the victim mode of thinking with a concept of co-creation in the assimilation process of the circle of life. The transformation of matter from one form to another will be understood as a co-creative assimilation design by all of existence rather than a capricious event of nature.  A tribute to this process was made in the movie “The Lion King” (Circle Of Life).  At the basis of this shift is a thought process that always begins with recognition of the responsibility that the individual has for ‘creating his or her own reality’ in cooperation with the rest of existence.  It is this one concept that is so often misunderstood.  Some net gurus assume that it is a process that will separate those who are in ‘service to self’ as opposed to those ‘in service to others’.  What they fail to understand is that the process is a recognition that there are no others!  It is all one. Unfortunately, this recognition was tagged as a law (The Law Of One) which implies a sort of god like director.  We (as in all of existence) are the One and the transformation shift is the rebirth of the human consciousness: a greening of sorts of the human mind.  What was termed Homo Sapiens (wise man) becomes Homo Verde Sapiens (Green Wise Man) or Humanus Verde for the individual.

The title of the article is a bit tongue in cheek because the shift will happen regardless of your preparedness.  There is nothing to prepare!  It will happen very suddenly, although some people will not recognize the change until they notice that their personal priorities have changed.  What seemed so important prior to the shift will fade like a bad dream.  Every person on the planet will have a new sense of awareness of the planet and all of existence.  This will very subtly change their everyday behavior.  It does not mean that everyone is about to achieve Sainthood.  But it does mean that those who refuse to admit to the whole will be viewed as needing help rather than punishment.  Proof of personal existence will change from  “I think therefore I am”  to “I think therefore I create”.  And training the skill of manifestation will become a basic component of childhood education.
