Dragonfly Totem
My interpretation of the dragonfly totem and what it represents.

Dragonfly is a very lucky and prosperous totem to have. She brings peace and harmony to every individual she comes in contact with. One important lesson she teaches is tolerance. You cannot offer peace and harmony to anyone if you do not instill tolerance in your own being. Tolerance and acceptance of others allows you to give unconditionally of yourself regardless of other’s actions toward you.
She does not have a very long life span so she has to make the most of the time that she does have. Rather than being pessimistic about her limited time here, she takes it to a good place and exudes optimism, harmony, and joy. She would rather make a difference in the world and share her selfless gifts with others than surround herself in a dark cloud of negativity while feeling sorry for herself.
Dragonfly spends time in the air as well as in the water so she is very good at balancing her mental state with her emotions. This is very important because if you are spending too much time in either space, you will become incredibly unbalanced. While it is necessary to swing back and forth from one to the other, make sure you do not get stuck in only one aspect.
Since dragonfly spends so much time flying she is able to get above any situation so that she can see the big picture. New perspectives allow her to make decisions with clarity and an open mind. Those with dragonfly as a totem will find that have a lot more mental clarity and insight than before her arrival in their lives.

If dragonfly has come into your life perhaps it is time to re-evaluate your life and ensure that tolerance and acceptance are being practiced. It is also a good time to “seize the day” and take advantage of each day. Do things that you have been putting off and simply enjoy yourself. An optimistic attitude can really help you regarding any trying situations you are currently facing. It’s also important to make sure that your mind and your emotions are balanced. This will allow for clarity of mind and also allow you to truly “feel” your emotions without acting irrationally.
