Eight Rules to Prosperity and Good Luck
Ever wonder why bad luck seems to follow you around? Ready to drop the curse and earn more money or have more good luck in the things you do? Then follow these simple eight rules for a more prosperous life.
Perhaps, you let a black cat cross your path or you broke a mirror and seven years have not passed yet. Check out these weird rules that I go by, just because I’ve learned to respect them over the years.
- If you see a rich dude driving a Mercedes Benz and he is Asian, he may be John Chow but most likely, his license plate has at least one number 8 in it. Number 8 is associated to sudden fortune and prosperity in the Chinese culture.
- It is considered bad luck to give a watch as a gift because when translated in Chinese, it means giving a curse of death.
- Bring a flashlight into your new home and shine it on every wall and ceiling, so to ward off evil spirits that may be lurking.
- A bag of rice left overnight in the kitchen cupboards will ensure the occupants will always have food in the house.
- Avoid house numbers with the number 4 in it because 4 in Chinese translates to death.
- Never buy a house where the stairs lead straight to the front door. It is considered bad feng shui to lead your fortune out the door.
- If displaying a wild animal in pictures, make sure the picture is facing the front of the house rather than to the rear of the house. If you don’t follow this, you will be consumed by evil intentions either at work or in life.
- Throw a bucket of water out the front door on New Year’s Day for good luck. Wash your hands in it if you don’t want to carry over any bad luck to the new year.
My advice to you, follow them religiously if you want to live a long and prosperous life.

I didn’t know any of that… but it’s interesting. My grandma has an elephant figurine near her back door and she says it brings luck if it’s faced away from the door, whereas if it’s facing toward the door it will bring bad luck.
I’m all about bringing some luck into my life though!
