End of the World in Darkness
by End of the world is frightening. There are many speculations on how our world will end. This climactic event was foretold that it will be days of darkness and gloominess. Stars will not give its light, sun will be darkened. But how and why it is prophesied in the Bible? Is it a sign of more troublesome times to come?
Thinking and analyzing the current events of our world today are just ordinary topics of conversation between our peers: Iran threatening the Jews to be wiped off the map, North Korea defying the odds of building a nuclear arsenal. These might seems a little bit off the hook especially if you did not feel the direct pressure of the consequences it may implicate. But putting your attention to these developments is of vital importance for our survivability as a human race. For these involved one key factor why we must be concerned. And that is—the building of a mass weapon of destruction.
Current Dangerous Times
The latest failed efforts by the United Nations to stop North Korea from test firing a missile capable of deploying nuclear warhead and the relentless pursuit of Iran on its nuclear program aggravates the fact that the doomsday clock is nearing to strike at dead midnight. Once these two hard-line nations developed nuclear bombs, hatred and desperation could drive their tyrants mad on pushing a button that will start the end of our world. If any leader of these nuclear powered nations was influenced to commit atrocity against man, then we have no escape from the dangerous times that lie ahead. Prophecies of Darkness
Isaiah 13:9-10, the Bible mentions that the stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light after a land will become desolate. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light.
Joel 2:2 describes that it is a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness. What follows this is a large and mighty army.
Joel 2:10 further tells of earthquakes and trembling from the sky, sun and moon are darkened, and the stars no longer shine.
Joel 2:31 again prophesied that the sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
