Fox in Socks Book Review

Fox in Socks is a tongue-twisting adventure by the famous children’s author, Dr Seuss.

Fox in Socks is one of Dr Seuss most fun-filled books, one with no real story or moral lesson, just pure tongue-twisting fun for children and adults alike.

From the beginning of the book readers are introduced to the two main protagonists; Fox in Socks and Mr Knox. Fox is a mischievous character who likes to play games based on tongue-twisters, while Mr Knox is an exasperated and reluctant playmate for Fox.

The tongue-twisters at the beginning of Fox in Socks are simple, just warms up for the harder ones that follow, and can be read by the youngest of readers. However, by the middle of the book the rhymes are getting quite tricky and the expressions of Mr Knox reflect that. By the end of the book the tongue-twisters are delightful, not only complex and hard to say, but they describe ridiculously unlikely and silly situations – wonderful fun!

Of course, a constant delight of Dr Seuss books are the illustrations and Fox in Socks does not dissappoint. The features of the childish and playful Fox are wonderful and the increasingly angry pictures of Mr Knox are hilarious – by the end of the book he is going berzerk.

Fox in Socks is one of the best Dr Seuss books both for the entertainment of the text and the fantastic illustrations. Fox in Socks is really funny and will be enjoyed by children and adults.
