King Arthur

King Arthur or "King Artus" was, according to legend, a British hero and king.

King Arthur or “King Artus” was, according to legend, a British hero and king, who brought the British to fight against the invading “Angles” and “saxs’” in the 6th century AC. King Arthur was the son of Uther Pen-dragon.

Around the figure Arthur grew up a narrative circle, with among other his Advisor Merlin the Mage, the sword Excalibur, the witch Morgan le Fay (also known as Morgaine) and his “Knights of the Round Table” who assembled at the royal castle Camelot.

Several versions of this story is written down in the 12th century in France and Germany, focusing on Arthur’s last time. The knights quest for the Holy Grail and the romance between the knight Lancelot and Queen Guinevere.

King Arthur had a lot of knights at his side. Some of them were Percival, Tristan, Gawain, Galahad, Bors, Ector, Gaheris, Gareth, Lamorak, Sir Lionel, Bedivere, Pellinore, and Mordred (son of Arthur and his half sister, Morgause).

In his final battle, Arthur meets Mordred, his illegitimate son, where he is deadly wounded and then sailed to the magical and sacred island “Avalon”.
