Moon in Scorpio: One of the Best Astrological Planting Times

The astrology of the moon has a lot of influence over plant life. Years of working with and observing the moon signs enables this writer to share the knowledge. Moonsign gardening boosts productivity, and reduces the failure rate involved in the gardening experience.

Moon in Scorpio favors transplanting activities in the garden.  The nature of Scorpio is fecund, reproductive, and resilient.  Other descriptive words would be tough, tenacious, and regenerative.  When a scorpion looses part of its tail, it just grows it right back.  Scorpio’s element is water, which contributes to fertility, too.

The other two water signs are Cancer and Pisces.  Considering the elemental nature of an astrological sign along with observing the moon phases gives added impact to any gardening pursuit.  Generally the first and second phases are best for upward growing plants, and after the full moon is the best time for root crops and tubers.

Seeding is better than weeding during a Scorpio phase

Moon in Scorpio is no time for weeding.  Unless you can get the entire root out of the ground, the weed will come back bigger, stronger, and more voracious.

It’s always a source of amazement how survival is such a perfectly planned miracle.  For example, digging a tough thistle out of the ground, and carefully plucking root and all out of it, a delicate end tip immediately sheds off whenever it’s moved. Gravity brings the particle back to the earth, thusly helping to transplant it, and contributing to keeping the species alive.

Farmers and gardeners often use tilling as a method of weed removal, but with a plant like thistle, tilling actually helps it reproduce.  Each particle of the root that gets sliced by the tilling blade becomes a new growth.  Whenever the moon is in a water sign, rain will be coming along to give the new growth encouragement to grow.

Use moon in Scorpio for growing, no matter what the moon phase is.

Making Astrological Energy work for Transplanting

Transplanting always goes well when using that fertile Scorpio energy.  Normally, as I have observed, there is rain that surrounds either the days before, after, or during the occurrence of any of the water signs, including Scorpio.

Since transplanting requires successive watering, the rain will take care of some of the work for you.  Any experienced gardener knows how important work efficiency is when facing the never-ending labor involved in keeping a garden.  Moreover, Mother Nature does a much better job of watering than any mere mortal can do

The fertility of a sign like Scorpio contributes to all and any growth.  Seeds planted on these days will also grow enthusiastically.  If it’s too rainy, fungi may do well too, but that’s when cultivating to keep the soil fresh comes in handy.  Earth and air signs are best for this, but that will be a subject for another moonsign astrology article.
