My Five Favorite Haunted Spots in Connecticut

My five favorite haunted spots in Connecticut.

The Green Lady Cemetery in Burlington. This is an old Seventh Day Baptist cemetery with approximately 76 burials there but over the years the gravestones have been stolen. Only one remains standing to this day. The town of Burlington contains complete records as to who is buried there. Legend has it that a lady dressed in green haunts the cemetery. At one point in her life, she used to live in an old house nearby but drowned in a nearby swamp. The dirt road that leads to the cemetery off of Route 4 is also home to an old city dump which is now grown over. In the woods nearby the cemetery there have been reports of satanic symbols and rituals taking place.

Church of the Eternal Light, Bristol. This is a spiritualist church in the western part of the city located on Hill Street near the Burlington town line. Legend has it that an apparition haunts the belltower. The church was a former Christian church, nestled in a residential area.

Dudley Town, Cornwall. Located in the beautiful Litchfield Hills, Dudley Town has a history dating back to British settlers and family murders. Presently all dirt roads once accessible have been closed off by the authorities due to vandalism. The Appalachian Trail goes through this part of Cornwall. Strange noises have been heard on the trail as one passes by Dudley Town so it is best not to go alone at all.

The Chart House, Simsbury. This restaurant located on Route 10 is said to be haunted by a woman. Employees at the restaurant claim they have heard her and she is apparently a friendly ghost.

Episcopal Church Cemetery, Woodbury. Located in Litchfield county, this cemetery is said to be haunted by a malevolent ghost. Nathaniel Smith, an eighteenth century state House Representative, is buried there but the ghost is not his. The ghost attempts anything to keep visitors off of the grounds.
