I Believe 2012 is the begining of World Peace for 1000 years after WWIII . Even Nostradamus said that.

Nobody is still believing. Even though the Hindu and the Mayan calendar coincides. It seems that the Mayan copied the Hindu calendar. Even though, Hindu calendar predicts the end of Kaliyug. After which starts Satyug. Even Hindu does not predict the end of the world.. How will this happen nobody knows

Good piece, I didn't read every comment-sorry.
For me:
1)First I got to get to 2012!
2)If it does end, time for next adventure
3)The Mayans don't predict end of world, but a change of calender. They show the earth being covered with water: cleansing not drowning. Mankind survived the other changes in calenders. If their works hadn't been destroyed, perhaps we'd know exactly what they mean. Anyone remember the turmoil surrounding the year 2000?
Thanks,
Clay

2012, Nostradamus, the Bible, the Qu'ran... all hoaxes.

The truth is that people who buy into these hoaxes lock, stock and barrel are the ones with their fingers on the button. The truth is that we are more than capable of destroying the world ourselves. Hell, we're sitting on a ticking time bomb already. If humans haven't started the doomsday countdown by raping the natural world and overpopulating it according to "prophecy" and a lack of available birth control (because it's sinful) then we're bound to be wiped out by a meteor or our sun simply going nova. This stuff happens. Get over it and just try to be a good person while we've got time and life available to us.

The way I look at it is, if the world ends in 2012 it does, if not then it doesn't. There's not anything I can do and I'm not worrying about it.

Good to know. And I quite agree with you, there are lots of problems to consider other than thinking of the end of the world. The world will end though, but when, no one will ever know. Good post, Patrick.

PRETRIB RAPTURE – HIDDEN FACTS !

How can the “rapture” be “imminent”? Acts 3:21 says that Jesus “must” stay in heaven (He is now there with the Father) “until the times of restitution of all things” which includes, says Scofield, “the restoration of the theocracy under David’s Son” which obviously can’t begin before or during Antichrist’s reign. Since Jesus must personally participate in the rapture, and since He can’t even leave heaven before the tribulation ends, the rapture therefore cannot take place before the end of the trib! Paul explains the “times and the seasons” (I Thess. 5:1) of the catching up (I Thess. 4:17) as the “day of the Lord” (5:2) (which FOLLOWS the posttrib sun/moon darkening – Matt. 24:29; Acts 2:20) WHEN “sudden destruction” (5:3) of the wicked occurs! (If the wicked are destroyed before or during the trib, who would be left alive to serve the Antichrist?) Paul also ties the change-into-immortality “rapture” (I Cor. 15:52) to the posttrib end of “death” (15:54)! (Will death be ended before or during the trib?) If anyone wonders how long pretrib rapturism has been taught, he or she can Google “Pretrib Rapture Diehards.” Many are unaware that before 1830 all Christians had always viewed I Thess. 4’s “catching up” as an integral part of the final second coming to earth. In 1830 it was stretched forward and turned into a separate coming of Christ. To further strengthen their novel view, which the mass of evangelical scholars rejected throughout the 1800s, pretrib teachers in the early 1900s began to stretch forward the “day of the Lord” (what Darby and Scofield never dared to do) and hook it up with their already-stretched-forward “rapture.” Many leading evangelical scholars still weren’t convinced of pretrib, so pretrib teachers then began teaching that the “falling away” of II Thess. 2:3 is really a pretrib rapture (the same as saying that the “rapture” in 2:3 must happen before the “rapture” ["gathering"] in 2:1 can happen – the height of desperation!). Other Google articles throwing light on long-covered-up facts about the 178-year-old pretrib rapture view include “Famous Rapture Watchers,” “X-Raying Margaret,” “Revisers of Pretrib Rapture History,” “Thomas Ice (Bloopers),” “Wily Jeffrey,” “The Rapture Index (Mad Theology),” “America’s Pretrib Rapture Traffickers,” “Roots of (Warlike) Christian Zionism,” “Scholars Weigh My Research,” “Pretrib Hypocrisy,” “Pretrib Rapture Desperados” and “Deceiving and Being Deceived” – all by the author of the bestselling book “The Rapture Plot” which is available at Armageddon Books online. Just my two cents’ worth.

Nostradamus' predictions are vague and open to different interpretations..also a very small percentage of his predictions proved to be accurate. This was a very detailed and intriguing write..well put together Patrick Bernauw :-)

Great article Patrick. I like this type of literature. The earth will end at some point. It's a scientific fact that our sun will blow up at some point in time. I doubt anytime soon and if the earth is desimated, it will be at the hands of mankind and our ignorance to protect the souce of life. OUR EARTH is Mother Nature and if anything happens to humanity it will be nuclear or a plague of some sort by the hands of mankind. That's my prediction!
Really cool article and well written as usual!
