Nursery Rhymes for Children

An article about the importance of nursery rhymes for children. Why are nursery rhymes taught?

Nursery rhymes are loved by children. Rhymes are taught to children to introduce them to the fantasy world of characters. These story book heroes become their friends and inspire the kids to go to school everyday.

Kids learn fast and pick up new words easily with the help of the teacher. They interact with the teacher and other classmates. Thus the kid blends into the life of a student very soon and also develops the reading habit, provided it should be encouraged by parents also. The kids love the teachers who help them to learn these rhymes by singing along. It helps to develop a bond between the teacher and the children.

Hindi holds the second position in the world, the first being Chinese. Hindi poems are enjoyed by all and poets are most revered by all. Hindi rhymes about animals not only teach new words but also have deep meanings too.

Jack and Jill

went up the hill

to fetch a pail of water

Jack fell down

and broke his crown

and Jill came tumbling after.

A modern rhyme

She named it Barbie doll

Her brother Bob had a ball
