Osiris, Lord of the Underworld
The Myth of Osiris, How a Pharaoh Became a God.
Osiris was the first King of Egypt, married to Isis, Mother Goddess and son of Queen Nut, Goddess of the Heavens. His son was Horus, God of the Sky and Set, his evil brother, God of Chaos. Set tried to kill Osiris in order to become King. One day, Set brought Osiris to a party. At the party was a man with a sarcophagus. He was saying that if anyone fit the sarcophagus perfectly, they would get it for free. Set coaxed Osiris into it. When he got in, Set closed the sarcophagus with the lid and sealed it with hot iron. He then proceeded to float the sarcophagus down the Nile River. However, Isis took the form of a bird and flew down the river to find the sarcophagus. When found, shed took a ship to the sarcophagus and brought it back. When Isis found Osiris was dead after opening the sarcophagus, she hid the sarcophagus with the body in the marshes and went back to the palace to care for baby Horus. Set eventually found the body. He cut the body into many pieces and scattered them throughout Egypt. But Isis got a search party and collected all the pieces. She then mummified the pieces with the help of Anubis, God of the Dead. Then, Thoth, God of Wisdom, used his powers to bring Osiris back to life. By now, Horus was old enough to take his revenge on Set. He fought an epic God battle with Set. Set took out one of Horus’ eyes, but Imhotep, Goddess of Healing, fixed his eye. (Now, the eye of Horus is the symbol of healing) They were evenly matched, so they decided to let The Council of Gods decide who should be King of Egypt. The Council chose Horus. As King of Egypt, Horus banished Set from Egypt forever, and deemed him as God of Deserts, Islands, and Foreign Lands.

Well how interesting, I mean, that’s funny because one time I actually felt like I was communicating with Imhotep, silly me, but really I thought I was…
