List of idioms with imaginary places.
Idioms have become part of the English language. Literary genres would not be interesting, colorful, and mysterious without idioms. Below is a list of imaginary places used in idiomatic expressions.

El Dorado
An imaginary country where the traveler can make a fortune without any effort.
Example: Having worked tediously as a farmer, Mark searches for El Dorado where all his toil could end. -
Never-Never Land
A non-existent but very attractive place or state of affairs.
Example: Most Filipinos dream of going to never – never – land. -
Eden
A place of sheer bliss and delight.
Example: Her marriage to a business tycoon has brought her to Eden. -
Limbo
A place adjoining hell, which accommodated unbaptized infants.
Example: Alyssa dreamed of having been to limbo. -
The Land of Nod
Asleep
Example: When his mother entered his room, Jason was wandering in the land of Nod. -
Shangri-la
A state of mind lacking in drive or interest, dull placidity.
Example: After failing the test, Joseff was in Shangri- la. -
A Fool’s Paradise
A comfortable illusion which could only have deceived a fool.
Example: Getting married to a foreigner is like a fool’s paradise for him. -
Topsy-Turvy
A chaotic, mixed up world, etc.
Example: After the storm, the place turned into a topsy – turvy land.
