Prophetic Dreaming
I recently discovered a new possibility concerning how prophetic dreams come about.
Inside each of our own “deepest places” lies our individual book of karma. This is continually being written and reviewed as every moment of our life passes. Each time we take action, make the decision to take action, or make writings or take vocal actions, new information is placed inside our personal karmic center, or previous information is erased or altered. I believe that we can partially read these karmic workings in relation to our own lives through our dreaming.
It seems that we can access the level or place within ourselves that stores and records our own karmic personality when we sleep. A part of our mental functioning can read tiny portions of what we have written on our karmic slate, or perhaps of what might be about to be written if we follow through and take the actions that we have been considering. I am uncertain how this could be proved or disproved within the field of Western science. It might also be difficult to ascertain if this occurs in some, most, or all of an individual’s dreams. It would also be hard to decide if it is every dreamer that can dream in this way, or only those of us who are beyond the “personal personalities” stage of dreaming, and into the prophetic dream stream.
I have no answers concerning how to prove or disprove my theory scientifically. Possibly, only a Buddha, or someone with extreme knowledge and experience in the field of karmic workings, could do so. However, if you have an interest in the areas of karma or dreaming, it is an idea that you might want to consider or investigate. It may be that our dreams can show us the way to ascertain the karmic results of an activity in advance, or perhaps in review. Our dreaming may be a source of karmic instruction, showing us what our proposed agenda will bring about for us, or how what we have previously done will bring about certain karmic happenings in the day ahead.
Partly as guidance and partly as explanation, we may be able to learn to read more of our own personal karmic book through dreaming. Dreams could become a useful tool to those of us who accept karma as existent and want to understand this subject better. It might be a way in which we can deepen our understanding of karmic workings. We can then apply the knowledge to our life, in order to make better choices and suffer less from ignorance in this area. We could perhaps learn to improve ourselves faster, if self-improvement and the lessening of our detrimental karmic content are our goals.
