Romulus and Remus

About two brothers who fought each other for a kingdom.

Once upon a time there were two brothers called Numitor and Amulius. Amulius was jealous of his brother because Numitor was the king and he wasn’t. One day Numitor got attacked by an army and died. Amulius took over his brother’s crown.

He didn’t let Rhea Silva [Numitor daughter] have any sons because if she had any sons they will take over the crown. One day Rhea Silva was sleeping when god Mars [the god of agriculture, spring and war] wished that Rhea Silva shall have two sons [twins]. Amulius got furious when he found out what had happened.

He threw the mother and babies in a river. The mother died but twins survived. The twins were then raised by wolves and fed by birds. This went on for long but one day the boys were discovered by a shepherd called Faustulus who took them home. His wife and him raised them as if they were there own kids. Fausutulus taught them how to talk and his wife taught them how to read and write. For ten years they lived with there new father and mother.

In those days Faustulus had a hard time. The country was full of robbers. One day a robber as robbing their things but Romulus and Remus were big enough now and were sword masters. They fought the robber to death. One day Josephus turned up with 30 bandits, they fought valiantly. They killed about 20 bandits when their words broke. Romulus managed to get away but Remus got captured. The bandits took him to the landowner to blame Remus that he did everything. When they reached there Remus found out that the landowner was actually his grandfather. The bandits got trapped in there own trap. Romulus and Remus found out the reality of their uncle Amulius.

They wanted to destroy Amulius but they could never do that alone. Then they decided to build their own kingdom. Romulus decides to name it Rome after his name but Remus wanted to name Reme. There was a fight between the two brothers. They decided to ask god what to name it. There were 6 dough’s on Remus head but there were 12 dough’s on Romulus head. Romulus had won when he was doing the planning of Rome Remus crushed his plans. Romulus was so angry he didn’t know what he was doing. In a moment Remus body laid on the ground. That’s how the city is named Rome after Romulus.
