Sha: The Evil Force
by The ancient Chinese believed that Sha or poison arrows as they are called travel in straight lines.
In nature, we find perfectly straight lines in only very small segments, as in the cases of sugar and bamboo.
Even the tallest of trees have irregularities. It is a natural law that energy flows in wavy lines like the breeze, mountain ranges and streams. In the land, chi moves in undulating flow lines along the topography. This is beneficial and natural.
Therefore, one should avoid straight lines often found in power lines, railroads, walls, rivers, and roads. Inside the house, exposed beams are considered unlucky and inhibit chi movement. Corridors too if too long, accelerate energy.
One should avoid sharp, straight edges to keep energy flowing.
Freeways, tunnels, bridges, corners of building and lampposts have straight edges, which are considered conduits of negative energy.
While designing the house, one should not have a direct and straight passage from the gate to the house.
Feng shui believes that if all openings like doors are placed in one row energy speeds thus becoming sha. The most important places one has to guard from the sha energy are the main door, bed, office, table, as well as stove.
