The ability to transpose the interpretation of a Tarot Card to any spread or position is the main secret to successful tarot reading.

Just as a Musician has to be able to change the key of a piece of music, so a successful Tarot Reader has to be able to change the interpretation of an individual Tarot card to fit a wide variety of Spreads and card positions.

An individual card from the Tarot deck has to be interpreted in a variety of ways:

The current position of the Client

The recent Past of the client, and also the near Future

The emotions and feelings of the Client

How the world sees the Client

How the Social environment of the Client is affecting events in Their life

Hopes and Desires of the Client

Fears

Dreams.

This list isn’t exhaustive.  This example shows that one single card can open up the doorway to a large variety of interpretations, and it is the job of the well trained Tarot Reader to evaluate intuitively, the correct interpretation.

There are 78 cards in a Tarot deck, and each one has the possibility to be Transposed to any position or interpretation, but must essentially keep it’s core meaning, or root essence.

The mathematical combinations involved in the Tarot deck especially concerning possible combinations of cards vs possible layouts and spreads are absolutely astronomical, and would be impossible to memorise.  The seasoned Tarot Reader will mentally Transpose the cards on sight, and , read intuitively, will interpret the cards in a Spiritually ‘musical’ key which can greatly enhance and guide a Client.
