The Adventures of Thaddeus and Lebron

This is a myth which I wrote and find it funny and appealing to many age groups.

On the Greek island of Xantos lived a king named Thaddeus who had a magical sword named Lebron. Thaddeus also had a beautiful queen named Sophia. One day Sophia fell very ill with a strange illness. During this illness she was nearly fatal and every day Thaddeus prayed to the almighty good Zeus and the rest of the Olympians for a cure or some sort of help. Then one day the God Asclepius, who is the god of healing and medicine, came to him and told him a cure on his wife. Thaddeus had to go to the garden of the Hesperides to get one of Hera’s golden apples which will be sure to cure his beloved Sophia.

On the next day Thaddeus set sail for the distant Garden of the Hesperides in Libya. Thaddeus got the strongest of his soldiers and took them with him on his adventure to this mystical garden. Before they left Thaddeus assured his wife that he would come back soon with the apple. Little did Thaddeus know he was going to be away from his beloved Sophia for five years.

During the few days of his trip everything was going well the people were cheerful, food and water was plentiful, and the winds and current were pushing them in the right direction at high speeds. The god were favoring Thaddeus and his men because they all felt sorry for him because of how his wife was suddenly struck with an illness.

After 6 months, Thaddeus made it to Libya with his men. Once they got there they had to get over the Atlas Mountains; on the other side was the Garden of the Hesperides. At the beginning of the mountain range things were good and the mountains were not steep; but once they got further the mountain became more treacherous. Some of Thaddeus’s men started to turn back and leave because of the difficult journey.

At last, Thaddeus made it to the other side by himself because the rest of his crew returned to the ship due to exhaustion. At the base of the entrance of the garden, Thaddeus saw Ladon the 100 head dragon which guarded the gate to Hesperides. When Thaddeus start to fight the dragon he was overpowered. In a moment of great despair, Zeus magically changed his sword from a regular sword to a 6’-8″, 250lb. dark skinned person with a flaming fireball in his hand.  With one throw of his fireball, Lebron was able to defeat the 100 eyed beast and climbed the tree to get some golden apples for his master.
