The Loch Ness Monster

Nessie.

The #1 big mistake that people make is calling it lake loch ness. WRONG! Loch means lake, so its like saying lake lake ness. Just clearing things up. Anyway. We all know the story, there is a huge, scary, monster thing in Loch ness. What is it? Thats what we’re trying to find out.

There are many theories behind Nessie, a giant eel, a log, some ducks, even a turtle. But the best so far, a Plesiosaur. Yes, a Plesiosaur. What is a plesiosaur? Its a giant dinosaur that lives in the water (obviously). How could it not have gone extinct? Well, look at crocodiles and alligators. They’re dinosaurs. How did they survive? Well, there are many theories, but we won’t get into that.

As I said before, the plesiosaur is probably the best theory. This is because it fits the description almost perfectly. About 40 feet in length, a couple of humps, and a long neck with a small head. There have been thousands of sightings, but few can be proven. There are many who have gotten video and pictures, The most famous is the “surgeons photo.”

This is the famous surgeons photo. We do not know whether or not this is real, some say that it is really a submarine with a toy head on it, some say it’s real evidence. But really, the picture was taken across the 1-2 miles wide and 23 miles long loch. The surgeon was on the shore, and the “monster” was about halfway in. The photo was cropped to get a better view. There were several apparently great videos that could be solid evidence, but the people who took it refuse to show them.

Some people ask, howcome we havent seen any bones or bodies? This is because (going along with the plesiosaur theory), the plesiosaur fossils that have been found left a mark that appeared to be a stomach stone (like what a chicken has under it’s beak to grind food). This, in theory, could weigh the body down to the bottom of the loch and made it so it couldn’t be found. Also, to make things all the more difficult, the loch is extremely murky and filthy, which also makes things extra hard.

Nessie hasn’t been seen just in the famous loch, but there have been some sightings of nessie on land. She has been seen crossing the road near the loch, or up on the shore. The thing with the road, though, is that there is a big hill so in several of the sighting she was in the bottom of the hill so she couldn’t be seen fully. Although, there are some where people were driving along and had to slam on their brakes because there was a huge 40 ft creature in the way.
