The inhabitants of the village where her family lived made ​​life difficult since birth, believing that his condition was caused by evil spirits and the fact that he was conceived during an eclipse. Therefore, it was not admitted to school, and they refused to baptize him.

In addition to the obvious discomfort of Didier and superstitions of his village, his doctors felt that nevus was at risk of becoming cancerous. His mother, Luz, was unable to raise enough money for his operation.

Fortunately, an English plastic surgeon, Dr. Neil Bulstrode, decided to help him when he heard of his situation. He flew to Bogota, Colombia, and removed the giant mole Didier practicing many operations. Their story, which was the subject of a documentary, will also broadcast on British television.

In all, 75% of the circumference of the body of Didier needed surgery, but he can now live a normal life thanks to the intervention of Dr. Bulstrode.
