Two Takes on Why The Mayans Ended The Calendar for 2012

This is purely fictional, these are just two amusing stories which for some reason people seem to believe the less rational one.

The Mayans were responsible for a huge part of the calendar we use today, but for some reason, they made their calendar end in 2012. There are many theories as to why this is, and most people believe it’s a very significant thing that will happen on that date.

THE ALIEN!!!

One day Colop U Uichkin came home from a hard day at work. All of that etching into stone and calculating numbers really puts a damper on someone’s day. So when Colop saw a glint of metal over his hut in his backyard, it was with weary that he trudged back there to see what it was. When he saw the gigantic space ship in his backyard, his first reaction was to run, but then he realized that some invisible force was holding him to the spot. As the drawbridge from the bottom of the ship opened, a blue haze floated from the midst of the opening that opened up in the bottom of the space ship. From this haze came a little green alien who proceeded to hobble down the drawbridge and come to a stop 5 feet from Colop. The alien said, “Greetings earthling, my name is xfgplyrgjad from the planet yyyrgjibble, are you the one they call Colop U Uichkin?” Colop stammered out, “Y-yes.”  Then the alien stated, “I can see into the future and I just wanted to tell you that December 21, 2012 is the day the Earth will end.”

Colop U Uichkin’s Bad Day

One day Colop U Uichkin came home from a hard day at work. All of that etching into stone and calculating numbers really puts a damper on someone’s day. So when Colop tripped and fell down a hill, it was with weary that he trudged back up the hill and to his house. If this wasn’t bad enough, he then got stuck in the door of his hut because it was so small. Out of anger, he punched his straw ceilling only to find someone had put a large stick there in the building process, which stung his hand. This caused him to ponder the wiseness of continuing on as a calendar maker. Wouldn’t it be better to become a soldier and spend his life in adventure, especially without any family, there’s no reason for him to stay put any longer. And besides, people in the future would be able to pick up the pattern and continue his job, it’s not like they’ll think the world will end or something crazy like that in 2012. So he packed up his clothes and some food, and left his hut forever.

Now I ask, which of these stories seem more likely? Do all these people who think the world is going to change or end or something like that actually believe a future telling alien told the Mayans what to do? I know this is an obvious question, but if you search on Triond “2012″, you will find all sorts of crazy stuff about people’s theories on what will happen in 2012. These are based off of no fact and no form of knowledge, so share this article with your peers and see what they think about this subject.
