Wisdom in The Proverbs

The book of proverbs in the bible is found among the books of wisdom.

The book of proverbs in the bible is found amongst the books of wisdom. The aim of the book is to impart moral living principles based on virtues and wisdom,  both  of  which  are  God-centered.  The following poem is a quick summary of the entire book. Poems relating to specific chapters may follow in future.

The Book of Proverbs

The book of proverbs is found in God’s Holy BookWant to gain wisdom and skills? Take more than just a look.

Therein contains the proverbs of Solomon, son of David
It has only thirty one chapters so it’s an easy read

Solomon is known as one of the wisest man ever lived
He dished out much useful advice, the best a man could give

(God gave him wisdom as a request we were told
But yet he strayed from God when he grew old.)
proverbs talks of wisdom of Man granted by God
Read and apply them, trust me, you’ll gain a lot

We are told that Proverbs is Wisdom’s call
A shout to the young and old, the big and the small

Proverbs pleads to you to live a morally upright life
Either as a faithful husband or a submissive wife

Proverbs also teaches you to be an obedient child
It warns you of the dangers should you be running wild

Proverbs talks of plants and animals too
Kind of makes you feel you are walking through a modern day zoo.

Proverbs talks of friendship tried and true
And how to avoid people who would lie and cheat on you

Proverbs warns against the scorners, mockers and the fools
Against all evil men and women who don’t play by God’s rules

Proverbs tells of how the wise will be finally be rewarded
And how the wicked will be punished and discarded

The wise will also gain heavenly peace and joy
The evil will be finally be thrown into hell fire to boil

In short, Proverbs teaches us to rely on our Heavenly Father
As a ship on the waves, His word will be our rudder

The simple message is in God to trust and obey
To let Him lead us wisely from day unto day

So if you want wisdom, read, meditate and apply
before Time runs out on you yet you know not why.
