Faeries are drawn to anywhere that crystals are, some particular ones that they love to work with include;

• Aurora
• Blue Lace Agate
• Moonstone
• Rhodochrosite
• Rose Quartz
• Spectrolite
• Staurolites
• Turquoise
• Zircon

But mine seem quite happy with any that I add. You will also need either a rainbow cloth, a sheet of rainbow paper or even a printed picture of one will do. I also laminated mine to make it more durable. You will need a small bowl to put your crystals in, something natural is good; wood, pottery or even a small basket would do. There must be plenty of space on the rainbow around the bowl so that you can also put any items you wish the faeries to charge or bless. This can be any new ritual tools, crystals for yourself or even a piece of jewellery.

Fill the bowl with an assortment of crystals, and they must be ones that you don’t mind ‘losing’. The idea being that they will come to the bowl and take which ones they need and replace it with another. This idea of sharing crystals with the Faeries is wonderful as it means you will get a constant stream of new and interesting ones. I often find that just when I need a particular one it will be there waiting for me, even some of the more unusual types. Occasionally they aren’t too quick to replace them so you may see the level of your bowl go up and down from time to time!

When you have it all set up you may wish to light a candle and welcome them into your home. You may like to write something to read out, something from the heart always works best, a poem or even a song if you are musically inclined. They love to be entertained!

You will need to cleanse your crystals each week, mine love to go outside when it is raining especially during a thunderstorm. But you can also do them under clear running water. Keep the area dust and clutter free they hate a mess and will desert you if you don’t take good care of them!

Faeries must at all times be treated with respect, they are highly intelligent highly evolved beings and they will not stand for any ill treatment or disrespect. Be warned that once they are in your house you may find the odd thing vanishing, they love anything bright and shiny! I have seen earrings disappear as I’ve dropped them before they hit the ground. They do assume that anything on the ground is theirs too! Do not make them angry, they are not the cute children’s book images you may expect and will think nothing of hiding things from you, tripping you up or causing no end of mischief if you upset them.  You have been warned!

You may over time be able to ‘feel’ them around you, they have a really unique energy to them and until you are used to it can feel a little prickly. In time you may also see little flashes of them out of the corner of your eye, you may see them in your mind’s eye or even physically in time. Sometimes you can see them as orbs, often rainbow coloured. You may also be able to capture their images on a digital camera. I have many of these, but don’t forget to ask permission before you do; they are like anyone else and not all of them like their photos taken!

You can also put small gifts out for them of food or drink; I leave mine out over night and then remove it the next day and return it to the earth. Sometimes it does vanish physically but more often than not they energetically take from it what they need, they feed on the life force of it. You could also a create a faery house for them and decorate it with leaves, twigs, shells etc. They often use them as a kind of portal to come through to our realm. I have mine on my desk and often see them peering out to see what is on my monitor or dance around on my desk if I play music! If you do decide to have your faery house on or near your desk/computer please protect it with a crystal that will shield them from the harmful electromagnetic emissions. I use a large piece of Iron Pyrite for this. You might also like to look out for a Hag Stone, This is a pebble with a natural formed hole right the way through, it is said that when you look through these you will be able to see them clearly.

They love music, anything that is harmonious and of a high vibration. They love being around children, pets and happy households but will not stay where there are frequent arguments or violence. They are gentle loving creatures when treated well and will love you unconditionally. They will help you in whatever way they can, often inspiring you to try new things and to bring a little fun and creativity into your life.

I feel very blessed to have mine in my life and very thankful for all that they do for me.
