2012 The End of The World?
These are the reason why not to believe in the 2012 conspiracy.
2012 The End of the World?
Due to the recent movie 2012, the Nostradamus Effect on History channel, and countless books and articles everyone has heard of 2012. You may think you know what it’s about but really isn’t it all just a bunch of publicity.
The fear tactic is one of the best ways to get good ratings. One example is of the news’s reaction to the swine flu epidemic and how it could turn fatal and how there is a new strain. The same thing happened with the bird flu. The media will cause mass hysteria as long as they get good ratings.
The Nostradamus Effect series is a prime example for this. First they talk about how doomsday is eminent and there is no way to avoid it and treat the Mayans like they know everything. Then they go into warning signs and how there might be a way to avoid it. First they scare everybody and then by offering a solution to the problem. Then they get people hooked by slowing showing “clues” that are really randomly put together facts that could be interpreted a million different ways.
The reliability of the Mayan calendar prediction is unreliable. Only a handful of people in the world can interpret Mayan. Also the Mayan calendar is consisted of three suns with the world ending at the end of the third. Who decided how long a sun would be. An archeologist could easily use that to create another doomsday prediction and could make millions of books he would publish about it. If you believe in Nostradamus he predicted there would be events until 3797. That’s a lot farther off than 2012.
Maybe there will be an event in 2012. The Mayans were good astronomers they could have foresaw a great astrological event in the far future. Overall it’s up to you for what you think. I believe though it’s unfair for the media to spread panic among people, especially when information is so available.
