Are We All Going to Die?
by Will all the predictions come true?
In our life time we have heard many predictions that the end of the world is near. The Holy Scriptures through the ages have heard the gong for the last round. First it was Nostradamus and then came many more to predict.
The Pueblo-Indians, the Zulu and the Maya have mentioned the year 2012 as the year of the last round. The Maya made their predictions about the moment when the gong would sound on the basis of calculations they had made hundreds of years ago and the calculations still hold nowadays.
The Maya had their calenders.They calculated in periods of 26000 years and larger. These periods evolved from their own calculation of time which seems to be superior in accuracy, also to our own calendar. In the documentary ‘The Year Zero’ during a speech, a Maya cleverly points out one of the mistakes of our Western calendar to the audience. He says that if we would have calculated correctly according to the insight of the Maya, we would not have made mistakes in our own calendar count. The month of October (Oct=8) would now have been the eighth month, November (Nov=9) the ninth and December (Dec=10) the tenth. Here and there there’s a plea to adopt the natural calendar of the Maya.
Is the world going to end in 2012?
Many predictions were made in the past and many are being made now giving various reasons. The Maya were very accurate in their calculations and as a consequence could make very accurate predictions. They even were so specific that in this enormous cycle of 26000 years they could pinpoint the exact day: December 21, 2012. This date marks the end of the large calendar and of the cycle of thirteen so-called baktuns after which the earth starts the ‘period of the fifth sun’. According to their calculations, which still are astronomically correct, our solar system will be in one line with the center of the Milky Way, the place the Maya call the Mother Womb. Maya expert Peter Toonen writes in the beginning of this year in magazine Frontier: ‘At that time our Earth and the sun are in one line to each other in the center of the Milky Way. Technically you can then get a sort of zero situation in the revolutions of the electromagnetic fields of our solar system.
According to the traditions of the Hopi Indians, this will take three days; three days of emptiness and darkness. After that the magnetic poles can reverse. What will happen is uncertain? Imagine the earth reversing the poles? Whatever happens, the Maya calendar then will start over with the year zero. The Maya do not have a linear time calculation, but see time as overlapping circles. Whatever happens, something big is going to happen.

This is a subject that has interested me for quite some time. Very well written, clear, concise and noteworthy. I believe there is much to be learned for the Mayans and you have inspired me to read more about their calendar as well as their civilization.

i dont believe in this . in my exprience of science i have geological evidence that the world is not gonna end on december 21,2012.by using quanting physic and studying this i dont beieve in all this . who knows the world could maybe end tommorow.actually were the ones causing all of this by making wars.all of the wars could cause global change to our mother nature.just for thator own mother natureis going to betrayus and maybe cause change.bylike we mh die becase of hunger .or maybe an illnes that has no cure to it.n one know believe not even the mayans,the romans,the azstechs,nither nostradamus knew. im just a 10 year old kid and i am looking forward to myself to become one of the greatest sciantist that ever lived.

Its a matter of our Sun entering the center of our galaxy and all light being sucked away from the earth in that period of time. Even if this happens a few days, it will have catastrophic consequences to our climate, to our crops, food, world order, and life. The center of the galaxy is a black hole, thus all light and all potential light pollution will be sucked away leaving us in perpetual darkness and the only thing we would be able to see is our galaxy (it will look awesome). According to Mayan and Nostradamus, every 24,000 years this happens and the fact that we see the Orion constellation means we are more than halfway to that point. But who knows, it’s very interesting and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.

I thank you all for the wonderful comments but I assure you that not all are going to die.One thing is for sure that there is going to be a catastrophe and noone can stop it because mythologically and scientifically it is bound to happen. How far reaching the consequences will be can’t be said with precision.
Anyway, I believe that this article has atleast made some people to think seriously.
This is life. I often say “Life is an uncertain and unpredictable preparation for death.”
Needless to say that we are dying everyday because it is known to all but we are not courageous enough to confess it. I am not going to die is a notion which almost everyone carries but the grim old man waits for everyone.

no i dont think we will die. i understand what is trying to be said, and i thought it was very well writin. if you think about it, its just like how alot of people thought the wrold was going to end in the year 2000. i can see it would end but not in the way we think. i think it would end into a wanting change. the maya only thought the world would end because their caluder said it would start back to zero they didnt have the science ability that we have. WERE ALL SAFE!!!!!!!!

Yes, it scares me.
And to the people who say they are not scared. Shut up yes you are. You may not be just yet, but when the time gets closer, believe me you will.
But here’s another thing to think about.
Yes, it sucks if something happens.
Maybe this guy is right, maybe its a peaceful outcoming that is more helpful then hurtful. Maybe everything will turn black and we will be floating in our atmosphere for 3 days. Like one big acid trip. If it’s like an acid trip then hell yesss. bring it on. LMFAO.
No one knows, because it’s not here yet. But when the year 2012 is upon us, expect anything and everything.
You can’t prepare yourself with survival skills, because there is so many theories its impossible to prepare for all of them. Time wasted spent of getting yourself ready for something that might not even happen.
All we can do is wait. And if something happens, we can’t do anything about it. So instead of wasting time worrying, live your life now, while we have the chance.

Well looking at the bigger picture, they say 21/12/12 will be “a change of time, a change of astrological time” they do NOT say the end of the world! Look at what’s happening now? you’ll notice the smaller things like oil is running out E.T.C so there’s some food for thought. Stop being so pessimistic, we have already started toward this transformation, we are heading for a new era this is something we cannot stop nor prevent.

i dont think the worlds gnna end, i think that there will just be a bit of bad weather and some earth quakes in some countrys and basically nothing much will happen because as it said in the text and it does make sense is that it will be painfull but painfull to see it happen like the biggest volcano in the world explode i mean some will die and the rest just sit back and watch and i honestly think the human race will all decide to change the date ack to zero and every body will be back to normal

There is no hidden scriptures in the bible. The bible even says it’s clear. Satan=Satan, not Satan=equals the force or whatever. Anyways, the tribulation is when Satan rules and on the 7th year, God retaliates with his wrath and throws him into the lake of fire. It is not that hard of a concept to grasp. It was a vision of the end of the world. The theory of 2012 has nothing to do with the bible, if it did, then a rapture would have happened in 2005. The Mayans have had their handywork with the solar eclipses, but nothing else. Even a native Mayan, said that that wasn’t the case. The making of a calander doesn’t go on forever. These “messages” people find in their writings are vague and have no specific relevance other than it being so vague that you can compare it to anything. To assume that the Mayans had a divine revelation of the end of the world would be false, because this would have to happen generation after generation after generation after generation. It would be more likely for John Lennon’s ghost to visit Paul Mcartney and Ringo to start reforming the beatles to go on a worldwide reunion tour than for the world to end on 2012
