End of the World?
by Is the world really going to end soon? Will it end in my life time? Is 2012 really going to be it for everyone?
According to people from every possible generation dating back to many years ago the world could possibly end in the year 2012. There are many reasons to support this belief, but let’s look back to the earliest ages.
According to the extremely accurate and detailed calendar of the early Maya civilization, scientists believe that the world is scheduled to end on December 23, 2012. This is the exact day that the calendar ends. What makes this so believable? The Maya used an extremely accurate form of time keeping. They measured time even more accurate than we do today. They split up there years into many different cycles of time which kept repeating. But in 2012 the calendar ended with no apparent reason. Why would a civilization from thousands of years ago choose this exact date for the end of time? No one knows the answer to this but it sure is scary to me.
Now back to the building of the pyramids. The pyramids, as you know have been searched and excavated to an extraordinary amount. But not long ago, scientist began to see an incredible pattern in the great pyramid. They figured that if they start at the bottom of the pyramid and count every inch of stone as 10 years or so they might find a pattern. And they did. They found that at the bottom of the first hallway was the year 0 which was the birth of Christ. Then they kept measuring up to find that every top and bottom of a room or hallway was a very famous event in the history of the world. Then when they arrived at the top hallway, the bottom was the first year of World War 2. It might have seemed to be coincidence, but at the top of the highest hallway, the very last year was indeed 2012. This must be the most extraordinary coincidence in the history of the world. Or could it be real? Could the ancient Egyptians have known? Another scary thing to think about.
Now to the modern times where science is king. Scientists see no reason that the world couldn’t end in 2012 according to the primitive theories. They actually believe that a polar shift could occur. A polar shift is when the magnetic fields reverse and north becomes south and vice versa. This could somehow cause a major disaster that could potentially destroy the world. I don’t understand how it works either, but the scientists do and I’m going to take their word for it.
As you can see, I do not exactly believe these theories, but they are always fun to think about if the world is really going to end so soon. It might even make you think about which day is going to be your last. Hahaha.

I heard 2012 isnt going to be the ending of the world.. There’s a belife that year is going to be another tragic event thats going to happen. 2026-2028 is going the be the world ending. I know these are theories but look at all the tragic event that happened the past 5 years. 9/11, 2-3 deadly storms that hit asia that kill over 50,000 people, hurrican katrina… and more to come until the end comes.

That is really freaky to hear that scientist would believe to say that the world is going to end in 2012 and nobody cant stop this. People just have to live their life and enjoy it as a human being. I dont know what to say to that, if it happens then it happens. I know that everyone is shocked and scared about this, i am too!

Its not goingto be everyone is one country it’s everyone on this earth that’s going to end, even celeberties too. People would ask when the world end, do we feel that pain? well i dont know and i dont think so because something is going to crash into the earth and it will explode and i know that’s very unbelievable. Just look around you, the world is getting worse every year. Our world is corrupted, our children are grow up too fast, adults act more like children, sickness, diseases, overpopulation, losing natural resources, crops are dying from droubts, major thunderstorms predicted, I mean just wach the news its getting worse and worse, and I think that 2012 is a wake up call for all of us living inside a cave,that this world is bad, and we need to start changing our ways, the way we talk, eat, make friends, become pure instead of humans who are controllled by the devil’s intentions (which indeed is all around).

Actually if you go to Nasa’s website and search 2012 astrobiologist and many more scientist state that there will be no aligment and no polar shift in 2012, and that no disaster is predicted on that date, 2012 is a giant hoax that will soon be proofen false just like Y2K.

Hmp, this is true (i believe) =/ The year 2012 is my graduation year. My Uncles have ben studying this for quit sometime. Allot people say the earth is suppose to end that exact date. I believe there is more.

No, scientists do *not* “believe that the world is scheduled to end on December 23, 2012.” This is a theory offered by conspiracy theorists and authors selling books. It is a fun theory, and one I love reading about, but it is not taken seriously by legitimate scientists.

No one knows when the world is going to end. I’m 23 and i don’t think i will see the end of the world. Alot of people get scared b/c of all this 2012 stuff. Its just going to be a new age and things going to change in life. All this stuff going on right now in the world is a change in life. Like the Depression they had back in 1920’s the cycle repeats it self. over and over in a long period of time. The Mayan calender runs out in 2012 don’t mean the world is over. Its going to be a new age,and a lot of changes in life. All this nuclear threats and war stuff going on right now is just something happens in life. They say Global Warming is caused by the pollution in the air. Well where i live they said winter going to be the coldest year they said its going to break the record in history If you look into it the Global Warming is changing back on the good side. I hear the Mayas have been pretty accurate with their predictions but I will go by the Bible and the Word of God and pray and seek forgiveness from him for my sins and hope that my children will believe and do the same. That’s all we can do. God is great. God is good and God knows. It is spoken in the Bible and I’m a believer in God. Unfortunately like many I am a sinner. I hope to change and allow God in as my saviour and live by his word so I am ready for the end whenever it may be. Lord give me the serenity to accept the thhings I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. On top of that my ETS date is 2012. I dont agree with killing yet I am an infantry soldier. I hope I am forgiven for all my trespasses as I have forgiven those who trespassed against me.

i heard that december 21, 2012 is the end… or is it december 12, 2012. kinda weird how things may or may not get mixeed up. personally i dont think the end will happen on this exact date. ( i will be 15 btw) and many ppl have predicted the end of the world, and so far there prophocies have never come true. what makes this one so special? and have you noticed that out calender end on december 31st! omg the worlds gunna end! XDDD. heres what i say, every clender end sometime,,lemme give u a lil secret. *whisper* when a calender ends, it restarts…. woah! there is also a rumor that ” planet x” or “nibiru” ( or is it called eris?)will strike earth. well, idk if those are both seperate , but neither would strike earth. 1. they say its as big as big as jupiar. this cannot be true because “the government is hiding it” it cant be true because there are new astronomers out there and they would blow what they find out of proportion. 2. if it was real, through my research i have discoverd that if this so called planet was real its revolution is about 300- 500 earth years. so that means two things, one it has passed by or somewhat passed by earth in the past ( with the earth being about 4.5 billon or so years old.) and right now( if it was real) it would be at its almost farthest point from the sun. so it wont just zoom in on us in 4 years and hit us. How can anybody tell when the world is going to end? Only God knows. You remember that Y2K was a hoax. And all these other similar predictions fell short. Why would 2012 be any different? I have been thinking about it and looking at various websites on the theories, but everyone has differnet views. If we are still here after 2012, then SHUT UP. Let nature take its course and stop trying to predict when the world is going to end. Nobody cares except for the really paranoid people.

The world isn’t going to end on December 21, 2012, just the Mayan Calendar ends. Let me tell you something. The Mayan Calendar has to end sometime and did you know when the Mayan Calendar ended the Mayans would celebrate? Besides, nobody can’t predict when the end of the world is. You shouldn’t always believe what you hear from other people. Those who spread rumors about 2012 should be punished. *Sun will be lined up with a sunspot, but it doesn’t mean it will wipe out all life on Earth. One time ago, Earth was lined up with a sunspot and people were on it and everybody didn’t just die.
* There is not going to be catasphoic earthquakes.
Each time the end the world is predicted. They are always wrong. Here are all the predictions of when the world would end and each time they where wrong. Before 2012 it was 2006. Then 2000. And 1990, 1988, 1987, 1986, 1985, 1984, 1982, 1980, 1975, 1974, 1970, 1967, 1960, 1957, 1953, 1948, 1940, 1936, 1919, 1915, 1914, 1891, 1856, 1850, 1844, 1832, 1830, 1794, 1792, 1736, 1689, 1669, 1533, 1524, 1496, 1346, 1284, 1205, 1033, 1005, 1000, 992, 968, 500, 375, 365, 200, 90, 60, 30. SEE!! The end hasn’t came and all this shows they are wrong!! Through out history the end has been predicted but has never happened so, whats the point of worrying?
You know what is sad? People may have committed suicide thinking the world is going to end all because of these lies. So, please don’t live your life in fear. Just live your life be sucessful and don’t worry. It isn’t going to happen! Anyways, as from what I just said, you can’t predict the future. What if tommarow were the end? if a date can become a good exercise for leaving our daily ego and falsity , sit down at home with our beloved and try to be the real ourselves in love and peace well , the mayan calendar can be considered a good tool for making a change .
Something is happening , the world is for sure not the same as we know in our short passing by and whatever is happening is for the good , even if , like in the best moments of our lifes , to reach it we might go through hard times .
There’s nothing to fear for who is already living in its heart and has already learned since a long time that we are not alone and exspcially we are one . We are living an important moment in humankind and nature development . We cannot fear such occasion , but we first have to be in our hearts .
Only there , we will understand that at the end love survives , forever .

The world wont end, maybe there will be mass extinction due to the world going thru changes. However, the Mayans were highly sophisticated astronomers.NASA has predicted sunspots 30-50% higher than usual. Past end of the world predictions have been flawed because it was based on myth. However, the Mayan calendar is scientific. Something will happen, not sure what, so stay tuned!

i didn’t like this at all. Reading these things makes me scared and it takes my anxiety to a whole new level.. i feel bad for everyone who has kids or someone that they love and to think that you’re just going to have to die and leave them and leave this earth and everything that you love. i don’t know about everyone else but i love living life, it’s hard at times but we don’t know what happens when we die and what about those people that believe that you die and that’s it, or that there is a hell. The truth is that everyone should appreciate life and really stop to enjoy it and think of how wonderful it is. I want to believe there is life after death or reincarnation but i just don’t know. I’m a sophomore in highschool with a boyfriend i feel like i’ve known forever and i’ve been with him for a while.. it sucks to think i’m going to loose the person i love in this lifetime which i waited for for 14 years, and now i’m going to have to wait however long again to find him in the rebirth of the human race… i just think it’s wierd to think that the world dies and comes back as something different like mayans built pyramids and predicted years and time then something happened to the world and a new life was born and now we have ipods and cellphones, don’t you think it’s wierd to think that techonology will have to be rediscovered? are we going to have to put things in time capsules to show the new race what we’ve done? idk but i just hope that i can live again as something different. i truely believe that each and every one of us has lived 1,000 times and we just don’t remember our last life and who we were. That’s why some people feel older than they are, i’m 15 and i feel like i’m 30 my mind is older than my body and i think that’s why people feel like they’ve seen someone before or know them from somewhere especially when you’ve never met them… you’ve lived many lives before you just don’t remember. so if we die we die, but i still think we’re all meant to live again.

2012 is the peak moment of something that is already happening ; increasing hunger , inceasing wars , increasing fears , confusion , values disapearing … Is it really consequence of mankind development or something else bigger than us ? Loooking at nature , it seems that earth has already turned the clock and is ready for the new cycle , but as in the past , earth beings are not ready to accept it and understand that it is time to change and start living in the heart .

Allow me to start off saying that for many many years the worlds inhabitants…humans specifically…have said the world was going to end literally every single year from one reason to another. These people have “valid” reasons in which undoubtedly state the end of our very existance. They said the world would end last year and the year befare and even the current year. Search it online for more information. These people who create these claims want to influence large quantaties of people in order to ‘cash in’. MEANING if I were to influence or persuade, if you will, many people that the world will end January 13th 2009 than I could make a book. All of those intruiged and frightened people will want to buy my book. THe more people the more money. Eventually tv shows will want to take action as well…convincing people that the world will end January 13th, 2009. The more viewers the more…what? Oh yeah, MONEY!
Now what exactly makes the year 2012 so “frightening”. A culture way back when called The Maya Culture was a culture in central America. They were very good with mathematics and astrology SO good that they predicted solar events far far far into their future without the use of telescopes. They tracked movements of stars and planets to the point where they eventually created the Long Count calendar spanning 5,125.35 years long. This calendar is more precise than our modern day calendar. When does it end? December 21st, 2012 of course.
Many other oracles also predict the year 2012 as having some form of significance. Some even pin-pointing December 21st as the date as well. What does this mean? Either something is really going to happen OR modern day folks tampered with writtings and created this whole December 21st, 2012 dilemma. Major prophets have predicted, in the past, that the world would certainly without a freaking doubt end on certain dates far into the past and, well obviously, they were wrong wrong wrong.
As more and more people are frightened yet curious about 2012 as our doomsday, more and more will buy books and so on and so forth…as stated earlier. Whats my take on this subject? After a while doing research and watching those very shows, I am convinceed that something MAY happen but not the way many people are interpretting it as.
You see….the Mayan calender (Long Count) Ends on December 21st, 2012, correct. This was actually a time in which they themselves looked forward to. Why look forward to the end of the world? You wouldn’t and niether would they. Just because their calendar ends that day doesnt make it the end of the world for crying out loud. Our calendars end December 31st of whatever year it is. Does the world end? Heck no dog. It simply starts over.
There is, however, an event called the galactic alignment that will supposedly take place meaning the Sun will align with the center of the Milky Way galaxy. This will happen the 21st of December in, you guessed it, 2012. Yes…great stuff but still does not…does NOT signify the world will end when this happens. As the mayans said there will be a great change. This could mean many GOOD things. Cure for cancer, end of wars, anything good…THAT is what could happen but if its something totally scary and serious than more people will “cash in” on it.
If you are a religious believer than you know that God says noone knows when the world will end. It will come as a thief in the night. If no one is suppose to know than how could anyone know this. Do you really think God would destroy our Earth in a few years? Yes there are storms…its called global warming. Its not going to cause a mass extinction. Below yellowstone national park there IS a huge volcano….but the likelyhood, according to people who work there, of it erupting is about the same chance of an asteroid hitting the earth…….pretty unlikely.( however on the History channel the people on there said it could erupt any moment AGAIN to scare you). Magnetic fields. If our poles reversed that would be bad but that happens over a long period of time. And the asteroid hit….If we see one in our radar or what have you, we have the technology to take care of that.
Before you blabber when the Earth will end take time and due some research from scientists. Search why the world will NOT end in 2012. You will find awesome stuff and feel safe again. Don’t think you know when the world will end because thats something only God knows….unless you don’t believe and go a different religious route. If you want to continue to scare yourself or those around you than tough luck. I was a believr but come on…look around you and really think to yourself…”Will this really happen? Will mass extinctions across the globe really happen?” Also think about the mayans….why would they look forward to this event if it will be terrible and frightening? If the world were really coming to an end in a mere few years wouldn’t we know by now? It would be all over the news “World is ending Dec. 21st 2012″. People wouldnt be insane and hectic. But no….nothing. NASA isnt telling us a huge asteroid will hit us then. No signs of the huge volcano erupting anytime soon. Nothing.
If the world was for sure coming to an end….why are those people telling you it is worrying about paying taxes? Going to work? Doing stuff they don’t want to do if we are all going to die in a few years? Just think about it ladies and gentlemen.
PS Anyone remember the 1930’s broadcast about the ‘War of the Worlds”? Mass panic across the United States in, I believe, 1938 when hundreds of families listen in on their radios to Orson Welles broadcasting about an alien invasion! This quickly made him famous and was a very elaborate hoax creating many people to panic and scream and cry. A very very widespread hoax indeed.

There are just somethings technology can’t control if God meant for it to happen. I do not think the world is coming to an end on 2012 because there are many infants born every other day. I believe there are going to be massive destructions for over the next centuries which possibly could take a large number of people in which they to die. But I don’t know, it says the world coming to an end not the Earth which possibly could mean a change in how we worship worldly possessions and start putting our faith into the spirituality. Only God knows when the world is coming to an end and not left for man to figure out. The Earth may come to an end but it maybe in the year 9000 if it ever will be. One thing the bible is fulfilling many events currently going on in this world such as wars and rumors of war,sickness that doctors cannot cure, etc.

Only the Lord knows when he is coming back. First he will take the saved in the rapture, then tribulation will be upon the earth for seven years, then He and His children will come back for the final battle and reign for 1000 years. I don’t really think that the world is going to end in 2012, but if it does I know God has a reason and has a plan for each and everyone, and it’s our fault too because we’ve been sinners. Maybe something big will happen in 2012 like a war or something but I don’t think that the world will really end. And even though a lot of theories tells us that 2012 will really be the end of everything, things can still change. God is good. And I do know that God doesn’t want to see us suffer. We should just continue our daily rituals and live life to the fullest. Maybe this is just a sign for us to be a good person and to make the most out of life. Who knows? Right? We’ll see what will happen. Don’t let this stop us from living our life. We just need to trust him that he will do what’s best for us and that he’s doing this because he loves us. GOD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS.

I believe that in 2012 the North Koreans will launch a nuclear missle in the California area of the U.S. I don’t believe it will be the end of the world, nor a nuclear holocaust will occur, but it will definitely change the world as we know it and it will be marked down in history. I also believe that the ordeal will be resolved without resorting to an all out nuclear holocaust but 2012 definitely will be a catastrophic period of the history of the world and as we know it.

Well I don’t know what to believe. The Bible says around 2015 but science says 2012. But I think it will be when the U.S dollar crashes and the entire world will end up in world war 3. I’m sorry to say it but we should all be prepared for a nuclear war. But it is sad, I’m 12 and I have a dream of being a Hockey player and it could be a dream that i worked hard but never will get to it. It is like the movie Knowing. Once the Disasters stop maybe the world will end.

One more thing. The Mayans were stupid, if they could predict our end, then why couldn’t they predict the ending of their society HUH? IT WON’T END. The Mayans couldn’t even predict their fall. Don’t listen to this because their calender ends that day. That calender is not ours, it’s theirs. Don’t panic saying OMG! It ends on December 21, 2012. Oh dear. I don’t believe in all that scientific $&!t. The only way we’ll find out if the world will end, it will be when our Lord God gives us a sign. If the world really ends, we should all look forward to it because we’ll be going to a place our Lord prepared for us, we will also be with the ones that we love, we’ll be going to our lost family members and ancestors that we never knew, a happy and holy place.

i heard that it wuz supposed to be dec 21 not 23 and i think its stupid cuz they keep sayin this every 5 6 years and it never happens so im not that worried about it. did u know that they have a college that prepares you for the end of the world. its really stupid so i dont think the world is going to end.Even if it does ill only be 16 and that sucks cuz i wanted to have a family but now i cant if that happens.

that is so not true god ends the world when he wants to not when people want to it is not like god just came down from heaven and walked up to a person and said oh hi i am god make a wright this down and make it in to a movie the world is going to end in the year 2012. no body knows when the world will end i don’t belive it because i have been on 100s and 100s of websites and they say the world is going to end on different days like on december 21st 2012 and december 23d or the 25th so that is my apinon belive what you want but it is not real they were looking for a topic like they always do like they said that aliens will come to the world and kill every one in 2000 and the 1940s it is just a movie it is not real
