Experiencable Program Units

Experiencable Program Units (EPUs) could revolutionize the use of computers.  I know that grammatical experts will say it should be experential program units.  But I have been talking and writing about EPUs for so long that I don’t want to change. 

An EPU will allow people to electronically connect their brains into computers.  As long as there are safeguards to prevent damage to the brain, a person wearing an EPU helmet or lying in an EPU chamber will be able to experience programs as if they are experiencing reality.  The matrix movies gave an indication of what may be possible in the future.  But they were filmed years after I began writing about EPUs. 

Let’s say a student is attending high school and he spends all his classroom time in an EPU chamber.  Since our minds can experience things at an accelerated rate, eight hours of programmed experiences may be programmed into the brains in two hours. That means atudents will not need lunch and could spend the afternoon in sports or just hanging out with friends.  Studying could be done faster so that means homework will take much less actual time.  Instead of reading about historical events, students will be able to experience them.  Science experiments will be experienced for safety so that if the students are learning about nuclear energy, they may experience a nuclear explosion and not be harmed. 

Tests will be conducted differently.  If a history test is given, the questions will be situations.  Maybe the students are experiencing the Civil War.  A question might be WHO WON THE FIRST BATTLE OF MANASSAS?  Students would see the question in the sky and would join the side they believed won.  If they are wrong, they would watch the outcome of the battle for the answer.  If they wanted extra credit, they could participate in the battle and maybe change the outcome of the battle.  This is what I call going freestyle.  If the Federals won the battle due to a student’s strategies or a group of students’ participation, the grade will be changed for the better.  They will still be considered wrong.  But their changing of the outcome of the battle will help their grade.  They won’t be able to use tanks and machine guns.  Anything that is not of the period will not be allowed to be used.  But with repeating rifles available back then, they might be used instead of muskets.  That change alone could have meant the Federals winning the battle and possibly shortening the length of the war.
