Human Race Versus The Machines

Science fiction or one day a chilling science fact?

It is probably one of our worst nightmares we could face: A war raged between the human race and machines.

Yes we have seen The Terminator films. But there is a strong message embedded in such films: That one day we could face the very scenario depicted in them. A fight for survival for the human race.

I shudder at such a possible future…

Science is racing forwards on an unprecidented rate. Every day we hear of discoveries and break throughs that science has made. Headway which the human race will surely benefit in many areas. Medical, Space exploration, physics, computer power and sadly, new weapons and technology.

Could this be us in the future fighting for survival?

Lately we have heard much about the Hadron Collider making a come back after a delay. Smashing together beams of protons to wonder into what lies beyond the smallest of particles so far known to man. Yet scientists warn of potential dangers and doors we may be opening. But we all know science has to push boldly forward and sacrifices must be made.

So what about the possible future for us?

2012 has been hyped up and science fiction writers and Hollywood seem to be one step ahead of the science we currently understand. Star Trek is one example of theoretical physics. Think that is funny? Well look back to the old Star trek and now look at today’s cell phones. Look similar huh?

Computers are racing forwards at a pace none of us can keep up with, especially the processing powers and cost. Next week’s latest laptop will be laughed at in two years time as processing power gets greater and greater and the electronics involved shrinks even more. Go back twenty years and we wold have chuckled at believing we would have touch screen phones and lap tops the size of a note pad.

More and more decisions are being left to Computers. Robotics is improving and how many people are now being replaced by computers or robots and being forced to take employment elsewhere? I will leave that guess for the reader but you all know it is on the increase.

So does anyone think that the military is any different? They will say no…it will always be under human control…but let us consider it isn’t and I hazard a guess more and more is being left in the care of machines and computers. Call me crazy but it is happening.

“Black projects” are everywhere as technology pushes forwards. In fact half the UFO sightings are probably some of these tightly kept secret black projects being tested by the governments of the world.

So are films such as The Terminator just the figment of science fiction writers? It is an exciting yet possible frightening future ahead of us as we venture into a technologically advanced “undiscovered country.”

I’m no John Conner. But something for our governments and scientists to consider.

As the famous saying goes from those films: The future is not set. There is no fate but what we make for ourselves…

Wow, scary thought but you are right, we don\\\\\\\’t really know how far these things have gone and it always seems that a great sifi film comes out and then stuff like it has or is really happening. Very scary! have you seen the clips for the new Bruce Willis film Surrogates? I can see this happening!

This is a scary thought…The thing that scares me is that robots will take the jobs of humans. Leaving all of us unemployed and what not…
