Science Fiction Aside, The True Apocalypse Mankind Will Soon Face
This may or may not shock you.
Rain dripping, tap dancing on the roof top
Waters and nourishes plant life
Snow drifting, playing with the wind
Blanketing the earth with stunning white gauze
Young girl, rosy cheeked and breathless
Her face glowing like the sun
Amazed by the wonders of nature
Unable to find the right words to describe the world we live in.
Bathing in the warmth of sunlight
Trees told their story and gossiped through the whispers of wind
The waterfall laughed and shouted with glee
Knowing nothing of the things about to come
As the roaring of thunder, flashing of lightning made their warning
Men came,
They are the great destroyers
They cut down the trees
And damaged the food chain
Worked their fancy machines to create debris
Polluting the air with toxins
Thinking that it’ll be alright
“If only I could have a little more, just a little more, that’s all I ask for”
The nature weeps sourly through acid rains
Creating earthquakes and volcanoes with her murderous rage
“What have you done?!” She shouts
“You cut down my trees just to turn a page”
“You drain me of resources without any doubts”
“You never showed appreciation by restoring me to my old self”
“But my heartaches for you’ll perish as well”
But men never listened
They kept hacking away
I wonder how long they’ll last
Before they pay
