The Aztecs

The Aztecs were a group of ancient and mysteries people. However, one day, they all vanished from the face of the earth. A vast empire, one that stretched all the way from Central America to what is now Chile, and in it not one Aztec was left. No one knows what had happened. There were many myths about the Aztecs; some say they were aliens, while others say that they were gods descended from the sky. While as mysteries as the stories were, perhaps the biggest mystery came from the Aztecs themselves.

One of the things they left behind was a group of ancient stone tablets. They were made, according to the tablet, by a powerful seer who could see into the future through the stars. This alone was not strange, but the tablets were. The tablets showed events that cycle through the ages. They all came true. On one of the tablet, it said, “the people will lose trust in their government.” That one cycled once during the Great Depression. Then, another said, “the world will be shake beneath the rage of war.” That one cycled during the Revolutionary war and during WWII. Now, the most particular one of all was the one that said, “The world will be blackened in the shadow of the devil.” That one cycle on the same year as the Aztec’s downfall…and will cycle again on December 21, 2012…the end of the world.

The Aztecs had tablets that predicted the come of events. These were based on heavenly bodies and the stars. Fanciful as this seems, the tablets did manage to predict events. Now, there is one particular tablet that is really interesting. This “event” occurs when all the planets of the Solar System line up while in the center of the Universe. This event happens only once every couple billion years. No one knows what will happen, but all agree that it is something interesting. Most scientists think that we will all just experience a rare sight, but the people that believe the tablets of the Aztecs it means something very different indeed. To them it means the end of the world. The tablet itself does not really say that the world will end, but it hints upon an ancient Aztec game. The game which decides which is a worthy sacrifice. The goal of the game is simple. Get the ball to the center, but it has a sinister meaning. It is to get the sun to the center of the universe. So, what will happen on the day December 21, 2012?
