What Could People Evolve in to?
This is what I think could happen to the human race in many thousands of years to come (if we’re still here) with many different ideas.
So, in the thousands of years to come, what could happen to our race?
I generally would believe that (and this may sound stupid) people could become amphibious creatures, and maybe even revert to our primal instincts. Because of the water levels rising, and in a few hundred years the polar ice caps will be melted and the remains of islands will be becoming even more crammed, that people may revert to having gills as well as lungs, webbed feet and hands, and have a stronger body design than we do now.
Now, for my evidence, you’ve seen that animals started by adapting from water to amphibious to land animals because it was best suited to their needs. Why could it not become the opposite way round? The land that remains will become too crowded and the ice caps will eradicate a lot of land.
But how could people evolve to that when we’re sentient and intelligent – mainly? Well, for richer people, and if the technology becomes available, they would possibly be able to have themselves biologically engineered so that they were suited to water.
But then if that didn’t become available, I think that the richer people would be saved and the rest would be killed…one way or another.
And then again, we could just be wiped out. The dinosaurs were wiped from the face of the earth. They lived for an unimaginable period of time spanning millions of years but even they could not survive their cruel fate.
Also, with the increased flooding, marine animals on the whole will flourish, at least the ones which do not depend on a sole ecosystem. Therefore this increased space will bring a rise to larger predators in the oceans to better balance the natural ecosystem. These beasts would be humongous in proportion and may provide the human race with nourishment, but how do we enjoy a meal if we are its meal???
