Will 2012 be The End?

There is much talk going around about the end of the world in 2012. Some people accept it others deny it and get upset when people mention it.

1. 666 as the end of Days

1. Y2K of the year 2000

A very important difference between the past predictions is that there sources were not very reliable. People and computer analysts were saying that Y2K was the end of the world, when in fact the worst that would’ve happened is that banks would lose money, economies would fall, and people would be homeless. But the human race would not become extinct. 666 was predicted by many religious people as the end of the world because of the coming of the antichrist (666 was the “number of the beast” according to the Bible). The Mayan calendar is far more valid than any of the other sources we have seen for the mentioned “apocalypses.” They correctly predicted the coming of “bearded gods” as the coming of Hernan Cortes in the new world. The accuracy and supreme intelligence that the Mayan civilization had has no rival in our modern world. We may have fancy electronic gadgets, but their wisdom was so deep and insightful we still do not fully comprehend it today. That being said, we may not be able to discover if the prediction is true or not. Of course the possibility that it IS correct is very disheartening for many and that is why the human mind’s instinct is to disregard the thought of the end of the world as faulty prediction.
