I think it’s really good that there are visionaries out there who think outside the box. If we are to continue living on this planet our way of living must change. However I don’t agree with what you say in your last sentence, “We’re all humans and that is sufficient to make us love everyone”. I think it is sadly the other way around. We’re all humans and that’s enough to make us jealous, loving, hateful, altruistic, selfish, good, bad and a lot of other things. My main point is that I don’t think it it possible to agree on a standard for how we should live and use the earth. As long as we are human in nature, there are always going to be those who profit on other peoples misery, be it monetary gains or just power. I don’t think it’s a result of the capitalistic system, as Fresco says, but rooted in human nature. Even if we got a society where every person got the resources he/she needed, there would still be those who would abuse the system. Why would you share land with someone else when you would rather have the whole county for yourself? Well, maybe not you, but there are certainly those who would. How are we going to change people’s fundamental way of being to build this kind of Eden?

I understand your concerns. Recent scientific studies showed that we are most probably an empathic society, because we have what they call “mirror neurons”, it’s a long thing to explain, so you might research it for yourself and understand it better. People are jealous and selfish because they live in a society built on these “values”… televisions always shows us that 5% of people without scruples and elevates them as winners, so we see only them and we think everyone is like that. That’s not true, isn’t it? People live in an ambient that is filled with competition, so a person must be competitive to survive. In order to make people understand that be selfish is not a great thing, you have to change ambient and their mind almost at the same time, I guess. Desires are just a reflection of a consumist culture, so a people desiring an entire country is understandable today, and what we have to do is surely a complicated thing, in making them understand that it’s not “fair” or useful at all. People with “power” have a way to see things that is destructive for theirselves, because they only want to have more power, but one day they will reach a dead point and they would not be able to go on in acquisition, so their values asset kinda collapses, that could be a point to start making someone selfish understand the question. The main thing is conversation and debating, making everyone understand that our current values are wrong… by showing them technical details and scientific discoveries, that’s the most rational and maybe the only thing we can do.

“Why would you share land with someone else when you would rather have the whole county for yourself?” By the way, why should someone try to compete with others, and maybe fail in the game, when you could have a great life by cooperating with others? Competition is not a fair game and you could be hurt by playing it. Today we can create abundance over artificial scarcity, I think this is the most important thing that can change radically our way of thinking and how we see other people.
