COLAGE: A Nationwide Advocacy Foundation for Individuals with LGBTQ Parents

COLAGE is a nationwide advocacy foundation composed of and servicing individuals with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer (LGBTQ) parents.

COLAGE is a nationwide advocacy foundation composed of and servicing individuals with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer (LGBTQ) parents. COLAGE strives for social justice and community union for the children and families of LGBTQ parents via the keys of education, support, leadership growth and adolescent empowerment.  These individuals of LGBTQ parents represent a multiplicity of ages from children, adolescents to adults.  This non-profit organization is grounded in San Francisco, California with chapters in 16 other states. 

COLAGE values, respects and appreciates the diversities of families.  They envision the meaning and connection of families exceed beyond blood, matrimony and the rules of society. In addition, they also value: the influence of people, liberty of expression, safe comfort zones, health, healing, cultural ability, purpose, creativity, accessibility, developing associations, youth generated leadership and assessment.

“In My Shoes” is special documentary created by the adolescents of COLAGE.  Jen Gilomen directed the film which premiered on June 16, 2005.  As children of LGBTQ parents and members of LGBT families , through the film they educate and share with the world their feelings, insights and experiences.

People can help COLAGE and humanity in general by being compassionate, respectful and understanding towards one another.  Continue extending your heart to everyone regardless of their age, ethnicity, gender, faith, socioeconomic status and sexual orientation.  You greatly contribute to our world’s happiness, peace and unity by circulating the beautiful love and power of your heart.
