Intolerant People Spouting God’s World Drive GLBT People Away From God

People quoting the verse in Leviticus citing it to be an abomination are not doing their God any favors.

Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals and Transgendered individuals often face harassment at the hands of religious bigots, but the tactics of such people have changed over the centuries. Because burning gays and lesbians (and for that matter witches and the occasional left-handed person) at the stake is no longer fashionable, the new tactic is to try to change what they are. Reparative therapy is not the focus here, authors such as the one responsible for this article do nothing more than justify their own intolerance.

The Gays and Lesbians area may be one of the least active on Socyberty, at least as far as the people who write for it go, but this article should have been placed elsewhere by the editors. The GLBT community is often pushed away from a religious and spiritual life by bigots who can only appeal to a two thousand year old book. Not only did this post about the Word of God not belong in the gays and lesbian section, we can see that many people feel vindicated in their intolerance using religion to keep gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender folks from a relationship with God. We can not blame Socyberty’s editors for this. Socyberty exists to make money and controversy is a good way to do that..

But if such people wonder why many people in the GLBT community are anti-religious, they need only to look at the mirror and their own attitudes. Even such people raised in a religious environment are often told they are sinful because they are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered. Many will throw off the shackles of this thought pattern, but such people will also throw out spirituality or religion altogether.

Sadly, the bigots who are in many cases a far cry from the people at the Westboro Baptist Church drive more people to the Hell they fear (should such a place exist) than they would by simply accepting people for who they are. Even the most conservative of denominations, including the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons) acknowledge that gender identity and sexual orientation are part of an individual’s make-up, and much like handedness cannot and should not be changed. The existence of groups like Evergreen and Exodus confuses the matter, but Exodus leader now encourages people to act on it.

Unfortunately, the idea that pushes many in the GLBT community away from religion as a whole is that something is wrong with those who do not identify with what others believe is normal. Sadly, as seems to be the case, sexual orientation and gender orientation is part of who these people are. It cannot be changed merely because some Christian dislikes gay lesbian, bisexual or transgendered people worshipping along side them.

Sadly these Christians are denying members of the GLBT community the very thing that they say makes life worth living in the first place, a relationship with the divine. Sadly, helping Christians who want to bring the GLBT brothers and sisters into the fold (or any religious group for that matte) will take more than one article, and this is only the start. Sadly, the bigot from the “What the Word of God Says about Homosexuality Article” forced this project of mine a while back to the front of my mind.

Lara, you only say Christians are bigots because we state Biblical truth, and hard hearts love the darkness because to come into the light would reveal their need for repentance.

As for your thoughts that we Christians that you call “bigots” “drive people to the hell they fear” you are wrong, a cold unrepentant heart is what puts people in hell.

Jesus Christ came to seek and save the Lost, but he can only work in a tender heart that wants to repent.

Jupiter King referenced New Testament scripture from the Word of God(Romans chapter one) which clearly says Homosexuality is wrong.Yet I noticed Lara that you appear to have deliberately omitted that reference and chose only to point out the Old Testament verse.

    here’s the New Testament verses

    Romans 1:24-32

1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
    1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Also the Bible warns in 1 Timothy chapter 4 of those in Latter times who will “depart from the faith having their consciences seared with a hot iron”

Ironically,I noticed in the commentary of Jupiter’s article you told him to “Stop the appeal to the Bible and Human Conscience” Do you fear that if they listen they will see the error of their ways and repent?

Why do you Hate those that speak the truth so much? Is your heart that darkened?
I hope one day for your sake you will see the Truth,

    God bless

Lara, you act like you are trying to help people when you are doing quite the Opposite, the blind leading the blind, Encouraging sin and enabling it in fact makes what you are doing even worse, just because you have a cold heart toward God as apparent in your article is no excuse, If you loved people you would instead Encourage them to seek God’s will and be obedient to it rather than encouraging blatant rebellion to His Word.

You would share the good news that God wants fellowship with all his creation, but Sin breaks that fellowship, repentance restores fellowship with God, hence the reason and necessity of it,
God does not will that anybody perish but nonetheless there are consequences for willful unrepentant sin, “For the wages of Sin is Death(this refers to a spiritual death, the 2nd Death)
But the Gift of God is Eternal life through Christ Jesus.

The Word of God clearly states that there are consequences to sin, and whether you acknowledge this fact or not, it is still fact, The entire reason why Christ came was to save sinners, but he also makes it clear that willful rejection of Him has a price.

May God open your eyes so that you may see

I have no arguments. I have no proud proclamations of what is right and what is wrong.
I simply want to thank you, Lara.

With this article you have shown courage, compassion, and respect; what it truly means to be a person of faith. Indeed, faith in all its complexities exists simply that we may learn to be better human beings, and that we may find in our lives a measure of purpose and happiness.

    And to the others:

The fundamental tenet of Christianity is that Jesus Christ is the son of God. And Jesus, beyond any divine connection was, first and foremost, a kind and humble man– a prophet of compassion, and friend to “sinners” and misfits.

The bible is a holy book, but still a book: It was written by men, fallible as they are beautiful, and by nature inclined to integrate their own opinions and ideas into their faith. And in their time and culture, same-sex love was believed as much an abomination as women being considered equal beings to men.

Loving as you were made to love is never sinful.

    1 Corinthians 6:9

I’d say the matter is closed,God is the same Yesterday,Today, and Forever as are the Laws of God.

I will reiterate the 1st part of Romans 1, maybe it was unclear the 1st time or maybe some misunderstood

1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

mostly I feel the need to stress verse 27

1:27 And likewise also the men, LEAVING THE NATURAL use of the woman, burned in their LUST one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their ERROR which was meet.

clearly that means homosexuality is UNNATURAL, unnatural meaning against nature, wrong, sin etc.

All of those who wish to justify homosexuality, it is not possible to justify it, It is not Love, it is LUST…and despite alot of societies confusion, there is a difference between love and lust. We were created for the Glory of God,not for our own self indulgence.

Those that live in deliberate rebellion will not inherit the kingdom of God. Genuine Repentance and Acceptance of Jesus Christ is the ONLY way that one can be forgiven

Lara, All it takes for people to have a relationship with God is repentance,Obedience and Love for God, and Faith in Jesus.
If people truly want a relationship with God and genuinely seek him, then they will WANT to seek his will and not the lusts of their own flesh. God made the sacrifice and told us what we need to do, it isn’t too much to ask, Those of us that you are calling “bigots” are in fact only trying to minister to those souls desperately in need of Christ, we all fall short of God’s glory,
but we don’t have to stay defeated in sin, God told us what it takes to be reconciled and Jesus is waiting for whosoever will come unto him. Following Christ takes sacrifice of our selfishness, If we truly Love God we will gladly make that sacrifice

Lara, I’m with you all the way on this. All Christians don’t believe that being gay is a sin. We know that people are born gay and that it’s not a choice. I don’t condemn someone who is born blind, neither will I condemn a person who is born gay. I can also asure you that Jesus Christ does not condemn them either.

I agree w/RJ God never contradicts himself, He wouldn’t have made man and woman if he wanted them to be homosexual, The Word of God calls Homosexuality an abomination in the Old Testament and further condemns it in the New Testament, so trying to justify it by saying someone is “born gay” is pointless

to those who think people are “born gay” I beg to differ, as does 1.Creation itself,2. the Conscience and 3.the Word of God, so I’d say those that think people are “born gay” are outnumbered and proven wrong by three different sources higher than themselves, so quit trying to justify sexual immorality, it can’t be justified.

Homosexuality=Sodomy, remember what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah?
Homosexuality is sin, always has been, always will be,God is Love Yes, but as has been said He is not mocked,We will all stand before Him, what will you say then? You won’t be able to say “Well in my opinion homosexuality is ok” because your conscience, heart and the Laws of God will be testifying that Homosexuality is wrong, we are not going to be judged by what WE think is right and wrong, we will be judged by what God says is right and wrong and God is unchanging, Christ came to seek and save, all he asks is our acceptance and Love, if we Love God we will WANT to obey God.

  23. John

To Ed,at no point at all did Jupiter say there were not equal abominations to homosexuality, they were just not the subject of the particular article he wrote, Nothing was taken out of context, you either believe ALL or NONE of what the Bible teaches, you cannot cut out, pick and choose.

Yes we are all sinners, and yes Christ can forgive all sin genuinely repented of,God himself leads a heart to repent,

but Hebrews 6:4 explicitly warns about the consequences of willful, habitual and premeditated sin,
if we go on deliberately sinning after receiving knowledge of the truth we are in essence mocking and trodding under foot the Blood of Christ

P.S. No sin is “relative” all sin is equally bad in the eyes of God, except the Unpardonable one which you yourself referred to in the comments of Jupiter’s article, it in Essence means that someone has hardened their hearts to a terminal point of unbelief and will never want to repent and so they have rejected the salvation which is freely offered.

After All, God can only work in a heart that wants Him to and he will never force any1 to repent,

Jupiter pointed out that the New Testament STILL calls homosexuality a sin in Romans chapter 1

It is now and forever will be, calling Jupiter a bigot or hypocrite will not change that,

God is Unchanging as are the Laws of God.

Forgiveness is freely offered, but can only be given to the sinner who is Willing to repent

  24. Matt

    On February 6, 2008 at 1:25 pm

The Unpardonable Sin is the Worst sin Possible, because the person that commits it has chosen to remain permanently in their own darkness instead of accepting Christ, the root cause of the Unpardonable Sin is unbelief in spite of knowledge, the Unpardonable Sin is a deliberate willful act

therefore nobody who still has a conscience and is willing or wanting to repent has committed the heinous unpardonable sin, if they did they would not even be interested in salvation,

God works best in Tender hearts

To Ed, The Christian Bible consists of BOTH the Old and New Testament,The New Testament is the Ministry of Christ yes, Christ Himself said he came not to abolish, but to fulfill the Law

“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”

    John:

As you well know, the “abomination” argument is almost always given to people with little or no knowledge of the Bible; when you therefore present homosexuality as an abomination to God, you are in essence presenting it as an especially onerous offense to God. Deliberately presenting it without any context like that makes it a rather low-class lie of omission. You are picking on the ignorant…

I often wonder why so many like you place such ENORMOUS emphasis upon the Old Testament Biblical law on homosexuality? If your true object was an effort to enforce the Law of God, must you not then be FORCED by your teaching to be out there killing people for all the many sins for which you are called upon to put the sinner to death? Absurd? Surely. Just as is the modern abomination argument. Please – all knowledgeable people know that it is just homophobia – and after many years of dealing with this (and I am a heterosexual) I am beginning to think that many suffer from an irrational fear of homosexuality – caused by a fear that they may be latent homosexuals.

Quickly: As Paul teaches us: As Christians we are NOT bound by the Law. It is a complex subject – but study your Bible…

(While the Old Testament is useful, I do think that the fact that it is printed in the same book as the New Testament causes problems.)

You may recall Paul teaching that he could not sin against the “Law” because he had died to it and was now living in Christ. However, he reminds us that we (if our understanding is “solid food”) must not exercise our freedom in Christ in front of a neophyte who has only been fed “milk” because we might lead him astray.

And always bear in mind the following:

    Paul: Romans 2: 14-16:

“When Gentiles who do not have the law keep it as by instinct, these men although without the law serve as a law for themselves. They show that the demands of the law are written in their hearts. Their conscience bears witness together with that law, and their thoughts will accuse or defend them on the day when, in accordance with the gospel I preach, God will pass judgment…”

I believe that homosexuality is wrong. I refuse to however, go around telling them they are going to hell; they are often confused enough, and using the Bible to instill fear in them is a sin! You serve to merely drive them AWAY from religion. (Remember, the Bible teaches that the worst sinners of all are those who mis-teach).

If you wish however to teach “milk,” and you are a Christian, you are obliged to teach Christianity: You John are a sinner, as am I – as is the homosexual – and all of us will be judged in the end, on the content of our hearts.

Do not just read your Bible – study it – try to understand it.

Sorry to be so long, but this is a very complex subject…

    Matt:

The “unpardonable sin” is the denial of Christ in front of the False One. Therefore, it is impossible for anyone to have yet committed it.

  28. John

    On February 6, 2008 at 2:52 pm

It was not my or Jupiter’s intent to push anyone away from God or to mis-teach or misrepresent anything, you’d know that if you fully took in the article you’d note that at no point did he say Homosexuality is unforgivable, only that it is wrong, as our conscience testifies.

The Laws of God are written on the hearts as you yourself pointed out in your reference to Romans

“They show that the demands of the law are written in their hearts. Their conscience bears witness together with that law, and their thoughts will accuse or defend them on the day when, in accordance with the gospel I preach, God will pass judgment”

As far as Paul saying we are not bound by the Law that did not mean we should disregard it, only that Christ fulfilled it and therefore where before we would have been put to death, Christ died for us and freed us(those that believe) from condemnation,

that is the freedom that we have in Christ, that we are no longer condemned because Christ took our place, however that was not a license to sin.

So, when someone KNOWINGLY and WILLINGLY ignores the Laws written in their hearts that is disobedience to God, and Hebrews 6:4 notes the consequence for such willful sin.

The Unpardonable Sin is Blasphemy Against the Holy Ghost, if it were impossible for people to have committed yet, why did Jesus warn the pharisees (even in his day) that it was unpardonable?

  29. EdRoberts

    On February 6, 2008 at 3:26 pm

    John:

Hebrews 6,4 applies to followers of Christ who then reject Him. Does not apply to our discussion.

However, if you like that book, Hebrews 4, 15-16: \”For we do not have a high priest who is unable to SYMPATHIZE WITH OUR WEAKNESS, but one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet never sinned. So let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive MERCY and favor and to find help in time of need.\”

Add that to the passage that in my opinion sums up the entire New Testament: 1 John 4,8: \\\”God is love.\\\”

Therefore, guys, if God is Love, and before His throne we will receive MERCY, and yet YOU continue to teach that a homosexual will go to hell – - OBVIOUSLY, there is something wrong with your understanding of the teaching…which is something I apparently cannot help you with, you will have to resolve the conflict by your own studies. I have found that given enough study, there are but few conflicts in the Bible. As an additional aside, I will remind you that you are SPECIFICALLY forbidden to JUDGE others – while I am saying that I not only do not judge homosexuals, but feel they will receive mercy, understanding and love from Christ.

If I cannot believe in a Jesus who is loving and merciful – we are saddled either with a lie, or a cruel god. Notice the small \”G\”.

  30. John

    On February 6, 2008 at 4:43 pm

anyone who repents can and will receive mercy, I am not disputing or discounting that at all , I am simply saying without repentance there can be no forgiveness, While this particular discussion is about homosexuality, repentance is necessary for the forgiveness of ANY sin, I do not think Jupiter wrote the article to judge, only to call attention to the necessity of repentance, He may have come across harsh but sometimes chastisement and correction is that way, would you rather people be corrected and chastised and realize the need for salvation or that they perish in their sin because they continue to think it is ok?

  31. P.S. from John

    On February 6, 2008 at 4:49 pm

We ARE all sinners, that is indisputable fact, but knowingly sinning and ignorantly sinning are different things, ignorant people don’t know better, willful sinners know what sin is but they don’t care, As Matt said, God works best in tender hearts.

Well guys, perhaps someday you will understand what I was trying to get at…

In the meanwhile, since we are discussing Lara’s article, you just continue to prove her point, “The GLBT community is often pushed away from a religious and spiritual life by bigots who can only appeal to a two thousand year old book.”

If Lara speaks the truth, those people who push them away are sinning as much as they…granting you for a moment, your position on sin. In fact, given that, on Judgment Day, I would rather be Lara, standing before the throne, than one who has driven others away from God! As you know, that REALLY, and I mean really, upsets Him…

You may want to think about that, and also, consider what Jesus may have been thinking while he was ’scribbling in the sand’ on that long ago day – kinda sad, 2000 years, and people still don’t get it…

I know, I know, you’re going to say that He also said, “Sin no more,” but we KNOW that if you and I hold ourselves to that standard, salvation is impossible…

As a final word, I would again advise you guys to think about the ’solid food’ versus the ‘milk’ understanding of the teachings of the Bible; believe me, it is two entirely different things!

    Good luck to all…

  33. John

I understand Ed what you are trying to say, but again I do not see that the article by Jupiter is “pushing away” anyone, I have read it thoroughly and it is merely a call to repentance, something we all need, as I said priorly sometimes chastisement is harsh but sometimes that is necessary,

it’s like when you are a child and your mother says “don’t touch the stove, it’s hot” you may think she’s hard on you, but later when you see your friend who’s mother never warned them go and burn their hand, you’ll be glad your mother chastised you, and though your friend learned the hard way he will surely pass on why it’s bad to touch the stove, thereby preventing others from getting burned.

Anyway, out of curiosity, will you answer a question – simply and to the point? I wish to make sure I understand your belief:

Do you believe that a person engaged in an active homosexual relationship at the time of their death, will go to hell?

While you may certainly expand upon your answer, I do ask that you first give me a firm yes or no on the basic question.

It is not our place to say, only God knows their hearts.
we are called to minister not to judge
As I said all we were trying to do is minister, if our comments came across harsh, it was out of necessity of urgency, what I mean by that is there are thousands worldwide dying daily, we would rather see them have Eternal life because they believed and trust Christ than to see them perish in unbelief, if we truly Love God we will not go about in deliberate premeditated and habitual sin. I agree w/John, we are called to minister and what people do with it afterward is something they will give account of, if they accept it great, if they reject it they will answer for that as well

Either way We will all give an account to God,

    John:

Since you for some reason declined to answer my question, I must assume…

You said, “It is not our place to say, only God knows their hearts.”

From this, I can only say that you must agree with me, as the Bible verses I quoted above show: On Judgment Day they will be judged on the content of their heart; and that God is merciful. Therefore, homosexuality does not condemn them to the fire.

I had asked the question in part, because earlier you had stated, “…without repentance there can be no forgiveness,” and, “…chastisement is harsh,” both of which imply hell, even though, as the Bible verse I quoted earlier points to the mercy of God on Judgment Day.

You also stated, “…you either believe ALL or NONE of what the Bible teaches, you cannot cut out, pick and choose.”

Hmmmm, John, this is where I insist you dig deeper. Just one of many examples: Leviticus 21,9: “A priest’s daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death.”

Now, I just KNOW that you John, do not advocate burning our young girls – therefore, you too cut out and pick and choose.

We have Muslim “Mercy Killings” rising as a problem nowadays, we don’t need a return to it in Christianity.

My very favorite, has to do with two men fighting and the wife interferes: Deuteronomy 25, 11-12: “…if she stretches out her hand and seizes the latter by his private parts, you shall chop off her hand without pity.” Hmmmm, Ahem…

The actual problem with all this, is that it makes many people think Christians are fools…and many are left with no way to explain it all to make it not sound INSANE. To explain the inconsistencies.

The explanation is that the Law is Jewish Law; Christians are NOT Jews and are not bound by their Law. Christ is our Law. Christianity as taught by Jesus believes that: God is love, love one another, Jesus forgives sins and in Him you can find mercy, et-cetera.

And, as I quoted Paul earlier: We are NOT BOUND BY THE LAW.

You will of course wish to point out Jesus saying he was not here to change the Law. You have to realize that His mission was to the Jews; and as Paul pointed out, the Jews, bound by the Law, WILL be judged by it. As Christians, we will be judged as Christians, et-cetera. Again, Paul preached we (if we understand the teachings of solid food) ARE NOT BOUND BY THE LAW. If your understanding is of “milk” you are bound at a stricter level – for obvious reasons…

    Matt:

What you said kinda scares me…the teachers (minister) will, according to the Bible, be held to a HIGHER standard. Because it matters very much what one teaches…

    Take care, guys… Bye.

I know I said the earlier comment was my last one, but I feel the need to respond to you Ed, I did not cut out anything, while hellfire is the ultimate punishment for sin, it is not God’s will that any perish but that all would come to REPENTANCE, that is the whole reason He gave Christ in the 1st place, Hellfire therefore is reserved for the UNREPENTANT sinner who, by their own free will and rejection has ensured their own destruction

As for the Law as I pointed out earlier Christ fulfilled the Law because we (the sinners) could not, therefore as Christians we should strive to obey and follow Christ and no follower of Christ would deliberately and willfully go on sinning.

by the way Chastisement simply means “To criticize severely; rebuke.” so your statement that just because I said “chastisement is harsh” that that automatically implies hell, is flawed. As I said already hell is strictly for those that remain forever unrepentant, it is the FINAL PUNISHMENT, not chastisement.

    Lara,
I read this section because I used to be gay. Not only was I gay, but I was a Wiccan. I really love people and I feel in my heart that maybe you have been hurt. Sadly there are some Christians who do judge others, but I do not think that that is the intention of anyone here. My long time friend is gay, unfortunately he is gay living with a terrible disease and he knows my heart and how much I love him and others. Because I used to be gay, I have a lot of gay friends that turn to me for advice. Some of them want help because at the end of the day, they feel something is wrong. I had one guy renounce his lifestyle almost four years ago and he is now happily married with children knowing that he is living clean. No one hates you or dislikes you for being gay, it’s just that being gay is a sin, just like any other sin, there is nothing in the world that will separate you from God’s everlasting love… that being said God is our loving father in Heaven but He is also our Judge. If any one of us walk into a courtroom and bring our case before a righteous judge, he has to judge us according if we deliberately broke the law. There is ALWAYS a choice! People always say a “loving God will never condemn us” Well this is true, that is why God showed us through his Holy Inspired Word how He wants us to live. Yes, Jesus died for our sins, but we cannot just repent and keep living the same way. If we fail to accept His gift and live by our own standards, we basically condemn ourselves. Please just keep an open mind when you write to others because I think some people really do want to help. You say that you cannot help who you are, so that goes both ways. The people here have that burning desire in their soul called the Holy Spirit to help others find their way. You cannot take that from them, it is God given. As a former lesbian who was deeply in love for another woman until the hand of God moved in my life, I can understand both sides and just felt compelled to say something. Thank you all for your time. :)

Nobody is genetically gay, that is utterly ridiculous and is merely an excuse for immorality

btw, I apologize for sounding harsh, but immorality is what it is. I say the idea that someone is ‘genetically gay’ is ridiculous because we all know nobody is born gay, it is a choice through and through, and a bad one. when I say ‘foolish’ please do not take it wrong, a fool simply is someone who is making choices detrimental to themselves and those around them.

    To all, take care

To Lara, if you love people, you will want them to Live as their Father in Heaven intended, The reason God gives us his Laws is because He loves us. Please, may your heart be opened, I write this comment not to judge anyone, but in hopes that tender hearts may be reached, it is not God’s will that any perish but that all may come to repentance, if you go to Jesus with a repentant and humble heart, He will not cast you out, He shows grace and mercy to the humble. Thank you all for your time,

GG, I must say I read the article in the link you posted, and all it showed to me is science is full of theories and will go to any length to say being homosexual is “biological”, nonetheless being homosexual is a sin, not biological. Men and Women were made for each other, homosexuality is contrary to nature.

Man can come up with all the excuses they want and the fact will remain that people were created Male and Female because Male and Female is How God intended people to be, we were told in the beginning to be fruitful and multiply, the very fact that homosexuals cannot do that shows and proves that homosexuality is unnatural.

Please, may your eyes, minds, and Hearts be opened.

It is so obvious that many of those who are so ‘Biblically’ opposed to homosexuality – since they absolutely refuse to apply a consistent application of Jewish law – are really just in fear of homosexuality; very possibly in fear of being a latent homosexual themselves.

It would be funny, were it not so sad…

Ed, the fact that you claim to be a Christian, yet you support people that promote homosexuality(which God already condemned explicitly) makes me quite suspicious of you, you say you don’t support it, yet the very fact that you are beating down people who are only trying to minister to those that are lost says otherwise, if you were truly a Christian you would not be advocating or condoning that people follow their lusts, instead you would be trying to reach people for Christ and standing for Morality.

    Take care

According To the Center for Disease Control, 52% of all AIDS cases afflict the homosexual community, Homosexuality is a deadly practice, People dieing senselessly and for what? Those that you call “bigots” are only trying to save people from a practice that could kill them Please, WAKE UP, We do not need to lose any more Loved ones to their own Self destructive behaviors. further, I do not think they that you call “bigots” are pushing people away from God at all, Why do homosexuals so frequently think people that try to minister are judging them for “being different” when everything we do is actually for their own good and to get them to DRAW CLOSE To God and Seek His calling for their lives rather than the Lusts of their own hearts?

    Mic:

Actually, I think that people who “promote” homosexuality are obnoxious and a boor – as are people who misrepresent Christianity…I do not “support” either.

    Please read through my comments…

I feel that you misrepresent MY Bible – as you do not, as St. Paul pointed out, fully understand it – and thus, you hold up my Christianity to ridicule and misunderstanding by the general public; many of whom, based on silly notions they have heard espoused, have come to think of us as fools and hypocrites. Well, you say, what harm? The harm is that you drive people away from any willingness to consider Christianity as a logical and reasonable choice in their lives.

An example are preachers that say from the pulpit, that a child who dies goes to hell…which is clearly not Biblical – except to fools who preach what they do not understand. I once heard a “preacher” say this directly to a grieving mother…if there is a hell – he will be there; not the child of whom he spoke.

It is not enough to read the Bible, one must strive to understand the Bible. While I do not by any means claim a full understanding of it, I do claim a basic understanding in those areas represented by my several statements herein.
