Is Homosexuality a Problem?

Homosexuality is a topic on which people don’t’ speak often nor easily But it is present in all cultures, both in the east and in west, since ancient times, recent studies in western countries have shown that true homosexuals represent an average of 3 % of the population. There are many questions are arising when thinking of a situation so strange and abnormal in the eyes of those who feel normal sexual attraction for the opposite sex. Therefore, to understand the condition and the people who are involved in it is essential.
There are some misconceptions about what homosexuality is and is not. Homosexuality is not a free choice of a person. Some people may have been born with it; others may have developed during the first years of life.
It is not caused by a disease of the genital organs, sex glands or sex hormones. Homosexuals are perfectly normal from the physical and intellectual points of view; in fact many scientists, artists, and literate people have been and are homosexuals. Homosexuality is a fixed pattern of sexual orientation in persons otherwise normal.
Homosexuals are not necessarily dangerous criminals, even though they may also make mistakes or even commit crimes, as anybody else.
Many homosexuals live, work, study and suffer as any normal person, being different in nothing except the difficulty the have to bear. It is there for evident t that every bit of discrimination against homosexuals simply because of homosexuality is unjust and unworthy of a developed society. However, wrong behaviour, especially when it scandalizes and involves youngsters, cannot be approved.
By homosexuality experiences we mean situations of deep emotional attachment to a person of the same sex in people who can normally feel attraction for the opposite sex. Often the sexual impulse leads them simply into deep comradeship but sometimes it may take the form of homosexual activity. For most people these emotions represent merely a temporary substitute for relationships with the opposite sex. They are not at all homosexuals. But in true homosexuality sexual pleasure is limited to a person to the same sex.
No medicines exists that can cure homosexuality. Many homosexuals don’t even want to be cured, because they are quite satisfied with this condition. Those who are too depressed and suffering from anxiety and shame can get help from specialized counselors or psychotherapists, who will be able if not always to remove homosexuality at least to reduce the distress caused by this situation.
Love
Love is a deep attitude of our being that makes us feel the need of sharing our lives with others for their sake. Love is the opposite of selfishness. There are many different ways of expressing love in the sense that the genital organs may or may not be involved according to the different situations, but love remains the same basic requisite of everything that is good and valid.
Anybody can think of one of the highest expressions of love is mother’s love. The main characteristic of mother’s love is to be at the complete disposal of the child, gratuitously, without any limit, in order to achieve his fulfillment in life.

Homosexuals did not choose to be attracted to the same sex person. But is it possible that they are confused about some unmet “love” need in their life, or even as far back as childhood, and that they have mistaken this longing to become close, or form a loving relationsship with the same sex person because of an unmet need? Did a girl not properly bond with her same sex parent? Did a boy not properly bond with his same sex parent? Were they not able to quite fit in with their peers? The list goes on just to get started. I personally do not believe we are born homosexual, I believe it evolves over time, starting sometimes at a very early age. I belive kids need to explore the causes & not choose to just believe that they were born this way because that’s what the majority tells them.

Most boys at the age of 9 – 11 while they are just going through puberty go through a phase where they are scared they will turn gays, which in my opinion is a test (I am a christian) a test from God, and the ones who fail this do yurn gay and as a punishment cannot have childeren. Or NORMAL sexual intercourse.

Homosexuality is not a problem and it is as natural as heterosexuality. The problem has always been religion and its dogmatic hold on its people. The fear that created this problem for homosexuals was based on the archaic thinking of many centuries ago. It was the accepted believe by the Jews and other religious groups that the man’s seamen embodied the embryo and that all he did was to insert it into a female for incubation. It was even this unscientific thinking that forbad spreading ones seamen any place else but inside of a female. Tribes and countries of the past were very fearful of not having enough sustaining population to defend and wage war thus the ban on homosexuals. Well sort of. As usual only the peasants were subjected to these rules not the elite, the rich, the rulers and the church. In actuality the Old Books that the Christians call the Bible is nothing but the laws, history and failings of the Jewish people of that time.
The human species and society has evolved much spiritually through the centuries and is moving away from its dogmatic religious archaic thinking of the past. The difficulty is that most people are very comfortable to have the priests and religious dogma to dictate their lives. As sheep they lack the will to think and be individuals as GOD had intended.
Humans are living twice as long now and need not toil all day in the fields. Thus they now have time to think. And this thinking is good as now they can truly find their personal path to GOD and not a dogma dictated box version.
Just as a homosexual can not truly be converted into a heterosexual, the reverse is also true. Meaning, homosexuals can not recruit. A homosexual may help someone to come out and be him or herself without quilt trips.
In my own personal view, I believe that people who are weak in their own faith or sexuality are the ones who are so homophobic and find it necessary to have laws passed to deny BGLT people equality of Constitutional and human rights.
