The Reality of Homosexuality Part One
This is beginning of a series of blogs on homosexuality.
This is to those who live the with(what can often be the) struggle of homosexuality or have been hurt by people who struggle and to those who are ignorant about what homosexuality is according to the word of God.
For centuries the sin of homosexuality has been put in the spotlight of the church and separated from all other sin. People have fallen somewhere in the spectrum of judgment or being flamboyant. Yet both groups of people have fallen short.
The time for the ignorance and the time of phobia and reaction instead of interaction is over. It is time for the body of Christ to move as one and to quit alienating important parts of itself.
Judgment:
The first thing we are not ignorant to is the fact that no one sits as the judge of this world but the Lord God. Though we are made in his image we tend to conveniently forget that we do not possess his almighty authority. We bypass the fact that judging others and condemning them will only insure that our own eternal fate will be the exact opposite of what we are so certain it will be.
Make no mistake about it. The judging comes from both ends: straight and gay. Heterosexuals judge because it was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. We carry out this judgment by throwing scriptures so fast that our homosexual brothers and sisters do not feel comfortable in the one place they are suppose to come for healing. Jesus was a healer and therefore if the church is suppose to be his house we should expect the sick in spirit to be there. You are. And you are welcomed with opened arms though some of your sins leave no room for the next person to heal. Mean and attitudinal ushers and nuns. Preachers who maliciously preach the word in anger with no love. Even worse these sermons are sometimes rooted into little to no scripture rather than blatant prejudice. Who does one turn to in order to find healing or trust to receive God’s truth in love?
Yet, for the remnant who do seek to love past the sin and or the fear of the sin their efforts are blocked by rigid people who assume all Christians are judgmental. Some of the flamboyance is not simply to come out of the closet, but to command attention. To in affect, dare any too good Christian to publicly contest them and to forcibly receive acknowledgment as a form of acceptance when they are not the same.
The worse part is that neither group of people realize the negative impact they have on their counterparts. For those who judge homosexuals you put obstacles in the way of those who actually have a desire to minister God’s unconditional love – the love that does not discriminate against a single sin. For those who deliberately put up barriers as allergic reactions to “holier- than- thou” Christians: Where is the room to receive ministry for yourself? Where is the room to minister into the young Christians so that a thorn does not become a burden?

God loves everyone no matter if gay or straight but in the church sometimes people don’t like to hear the truth about how it is wrong to be gay because they already know it is wrong. So if you already know it is wrong you should just at least try to change.

Change to what though jalex? Does a gay person suddenly wake up one morning and think “oh I think I’ll fancy the opposite gender from now on?” Because if that’s the case why not do that from the very beginning? The type of person who thinks being gay is a choice is the kind of person who could read an obviously childish fairytale and live their life by it.

God doesn’t come in to picture here. He humans, be natural. Male is for female and vice versa. No change in this.
Good article and this topic should not discussed.
