Why Gay Marriage Should be Allowed
Why gay marriage should be allowed and Politicians and Religions should open their minds and allow new ideas.
Okay so today I’m gonna tell you my thoughts on gay marriage. Same-sex marriage seems to be the least of people’s worries. At least, it should be. Who cares who marries who? The church apparently, many religions find it immoral. You know what? It’s about time they changed their opinions, and tolerate it if that’s what some people want to do. The churches rules aren’t set in stone, are they? I mean no one follows all of them, not even the church leaders. They think God doesn’t like Gay people, but it’s okay to have sex with an altar boy. Things aren’t what they used to be when churches first came into existence. Some things have changed, and the least the church could do is alter it to go along with the changes going on. Like in Pirates of the Caribbean, it’s more like guidelines than actual rules.
As for politicians what the hell? Why don’t they focus on more important things, like the economy for instance, which seems to be going to shit, as well as other things that actually matter. For some people, same-sex marriage is a choice and other people have no right to decide things for you and deny you the right to do something.

Churches and American government are separate from each other, as stated in the first amendment. One reason for people being against same-sex marriage is for the benefits it would provide, and the opposition thinks they’re just trying to get out of paying more money for taxes. Five countries allow same-sex marriage, as do six US states and parts of two other US states. All of the other states in the US prohibit same-sex marriage through the amendment “Defense of Marriage.”
Civil Union is a ceremony between same-sex people which allows them to have certain things that regular marriages have. What they do get is respect of property, adoption, insurance, wrongful death, hospital visitation and insurance and state income
tax laws. The definition of marriage is the legal union of a man and a woman as husband and wife. It is also known as a common-law marriage. The last definition: Union between two people having the customary but usually not the legal force of marriage a.k.a. same-sex marriage.
If people are starting to be all right with same-sex marriage, then why have only six states allowed it? Why haven’t others changed it? In Maryland, same-sex residents can adopt children and be protected from discrimination, and a new law requires insurance companies to provide health benefits to them, as long as the employers allow it. Voters in eleven states have approved anti-same-sex marriage amendments, through double-digit numbers.

dude i think you need some more information on the religious aspect. you should try reading the bible before you tear it down. i know that you arn’t sure if it’s true or not but the same bible tells you how to know if it is or not. read james 1:5. i dont thing that a religion should change because god doesnt change. about the religions that think that they can change their principles, they arn’t true. god doesnt change his mind on the standerds that he has set because he is perfect and whatever he does is perfect. i dont care if gays decide to get married or not, thats their choice. they should have the freedom to choose because that is what the whole american country is about. but just because you SHOULD have the right doesnt mean that its right. if you are looking for the truth about god and his church you can rest assured that it is against gay marrage but that it accepts that people have the right to use their free agency. but that doesnt mean that the church has to give them all the rights that the people who are obeying have.

I dont think gay marriage should be allowed because what are the men going to do if all the women go gay and this world needs kids so if women go gay how would the kids be made.

Christianity hasn’t changed in 2000+ years. ROFLMAO.. It had an actual Reformation.. Follow the bible are you insane. They married 12 year old girls to 40 year old men back then. They had slaves and traded them as property( for financial and sexual reasons);
You do realise at that time there were other civilisations at the time. Who had no issue with same sex relationships. Let any Adult marry which other Adult the choose( being of sane mind of course) let them pay in the higher tax bracket, have the right to legal documents etc..
I promise you if your ”god” is so offended by homosexuals entering into a legal binding contract, it will do something about it. Or does your omnipotent deity need you, a mere mortal to stand up for it.

i don\’t care if you are gay, however, i am starting to sway on my \”just let them get married\” opinion to \”maybe its not such a good idea.\” Here are my reasons:
1. marrage should be between an man and a woman but if you are gay i don\’t care go be gay and happy i\’ll still treat you the same way.
2. i think that the states should consider a gay couple married if they have lived together for 5 or 7 years under the same roof …that would prove to everyone that they are a union and not just a fling they… can even have children and i wouldn\’t mind it
3. if we let gays marry polygamists would probably want the same rights as any other family and i am sorry but i don\’t care if you are a polygamist…i saw one polygamist family that was quite happy. However, i don\’t trust in the future men and women affraid of commitment running a muck in the country. how will the country set up children\’s rights? How will people on looking for one true love feel searching for that love if most people believe in having more than one partner?
so these are my reasons thank you for reading them and please no bashing its un-necessary .

I’m not naming names, because bashing people on here is totally stupid. God CLEARLY says what he wants in the Bible, if you would bother to read it before you start bashing it. Religions shouldn’t change because God doesn’t change. If he includes homosexuals with thieves and drunkards, don’t you think he has a problem with them? In Leviticus, he says not to lie (have sex with or love) a man as you would with a woman. God loves everyone, but he doesn’t let thieves and drunkards in heaven so he doesn’t let people grouped with them (homosexuals) in either. And you can go ahead and bash me on here, I don’t care because I’m secure in the fact that I’m going to heaven and I hope homosexuals change their mind and join me there.

As today’s governments adopt more leftist attitudes and political policies, questions of human rights and equality have taken centre stage. Espoused with the idea that every citizen is granted equal treatment in today’s liberal democracies, has come the idea that individuals should be given the right to marry those of the same sex. Today the controversy over allowing or disallowing same sex marriages is a hot topic in many modern day democracies. The debate over this issue, although relatively recent, has come to see a plethora of opinions and outcomes. For most people the traditional legal and social idea of a marriage encompasses the coming together of a man and woman. Many believe that the sanctity of marriage lies in its tradition and that allowing same-sex marriages would compromise this age-old practise. Similarly others believe that marriage should be a more flexible institution and one that should not restrict its binding powers and tradition exclusively to heterosexual couples. Supporters of same-sex marriage may argue that disallowing same-sex marriage is a primitive choice of today’s democracies as it discriminates against individual’s most basic rights of being together. Opponents of same-sex marriage however will argue that allowing gay marriage paves the road to a society of chaos and social decay, where people will be free to marry their pets and cars. Similarly, supporters of same-sex marriage believe that allowing same-sex marriages is vital in promoting the rights of the homosexual minority, and feel that disallowing it suppresses the human rights that modern democracies pride themselves on maintaining. Opponents of such views however believe that same-sex marriages contradict the basic human biology of heterosexual relationships as same-sex couples cannot procreate. Although same-sex marriage is legal in certain European countries such as the Netherlands, and other American states such as Iowa, it is not to say that it has gained full popularity globally. Whether or not it will become legalized in other parts of the world depends highly on the attitudes of government as well as on questions of morality.
