A Scared Citizen is a Good Citizen

Because emotion can be exploited and when you want numbers you go for the emotion everyone has. Fear. Do you think the pharmaceutical industry is planning to cut the prices on Tamiflu? Hell no. They’re not interested in anything but making a lot of money off your fear. Large corporations love it when you’re afraid. When you think the world is coming to it’s end you’re going to stock up on batteries and canned food and first aid kits like we were running out of them. When people are afraid they buy supplies en masse.

And of course it doesn’t end there. For years people with their own agendas have been exploiting your fear. Religious organisations dedicate themselves to exploiting your fear and making sure you’re attending their cultist worship and giving them your money instead of their competitors.

The government even gives big business a run for their money when it comes to exploiting you’re fear. A few well worded promises of protection and they have masses of people on their knees handing over everything in the hopes that they’ll be protected from whatever evil has been fabricated for them by the media. This is how money is made, power is earned, freedom is stolen and you are enslaved. Every time your body goes cold and you feel the tears welling up inside because you’re that terrified, someone is just waiting to take advantage of that. People who are afraid are easy victims.

So before you lay yourself down and wait to be the next rape victim of a greedy, exploitative culture why don’t you give a little thought to what you’re doing. And just to ease you into things here’s a couple of facts to help you out.

• No country anywhere is evil and no one in the middle east gives a shit about your freedom.

• Barack Obama is not a muslim, not the anti-christ and he’s not a communist.

• You’re not going to die of swine flu.

• There is no millennium virus.

• The mayan’s world ended a long time ago. Their calandar is clearly wrong and you’ve misunderstood their mythology anyway.

• There are no alien ghosts sucking the happy out of your body.

• Having a gun in your bedside table doesn’t make you safe it just makes you feel safe.

• The red-coats are not coming.

• There is no monster under your bed.

Now that we have that cleared up I think it’s about time we start getting on with our lives and the next time someone tell you they will make your fear go away if you just get on your knees, hand over your money and do what they tell you well you just go tell them where to stick their pedestrian parachute.
