All Those Bleeding Heart Letters From Postal Service Workers
USPS office closings and layoffs are a consequence of inefficiency and Complacency.
After reading letters to editor of the RDR by M. Mince and David A. Espinosa begging citizens of Roswell to reconsider the closing of the Postal Service’s mail processing center on Brasher Road, I reply WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD.
Postal employees have sucked on the fat tit of the United States government for so long that they have no idea of the economic turmoil and stress that most non government employees face. Yes, people who work in the real world(employees of private industry) actually have to worry about doing a good job and getting laid off if they are non productive.
Both Expinosa and Mince write about how their families will be uprooted and how their lives will be affected. I doubt many citizens of the this poor town in Southeastern New Mexico feel too sorry for them. Welcome to the real world, postal employees, where jobs are not guaranteed where one can be in the poor house in the blink of an eye.
Finally, perhaps either of these letter writers would volunteer to explain why the USPS lost 5 billion dollars in 2011 OR why frequently ONLY ONE United States Postal Service attendant is available to help lines with more than 20 folks waiting?
Get your resumes ready…..layoffs are looming
