British Government Communications Center (Government Communications Headquarters, GCHQ) will search for new employees through the network service of Xbox Live, reports MCV. According to the journalists, a six-week advertising campaign starts on November 21. Announcements of employment will not only be in the menu of Xbox 360, but also in some games.
As explained The Guardian, the new ads will appear in projects such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2, and Assassin’s Creed II. The campaign is aimed at people aged 18 to 34 years. Representatives of GCHQ believe that Microsoft with its Xbox Live service is the ideal partner to help bring information to this audience.
It is noted that gamers have the majority of the skills that potential employees need in GCHQ. In particular, many of them are able to quickly make important decisions and work well in a team. GCHQ expects this “innovative” advertising to attract the attention of the right people.
Center of Government Communications is working in electronic intelligence and information security for the British government and the armed forces of the country. GCHQ is cooperating with the security services (MI5) and intelligence (MI6). Center reports to the British Foreign Secretary David Miliband.
