Dialogue: Can a True Islamic Government Guarantee Peace and Prosperity in Society?

Below is basically a summarized transcript of dialog I had with a person, I met on Internet. That person is a Muslim impressed by so called "enlightened moderation".He believes that Islamic way of running government affairs can not guarantee peace and prosperity in society. The only fruits of imposing Islamic shariah according to him is: chaos, disintegration and economical failure.
