Government.
I seldom write anything of a political nature, but today I felt imposed to write about a little political controversy. Our government once symbolized a great nation but is now only known by the huge debt accumulations that it has amassed. Some people say that government has always been this way, but I beg to differ.
Why do we send billions of dollars overseas yearly? Why do we buy foreign oil when we have our own? Why does one NFL football player make more in one year than the entire presidential cabinet? So many questions ad yet no one can answer them. I think that we should return to a nation that is truly a democracy. The government works for the people. It would seem over the past few decades that the true democracy has been lost.
Why is the government tell us what to do when the overall majority does not agree. Our government is growing ever more closer to a socialistic or communistic system. This can not be good for our country as a whole. I recall one time someone mentioning that social reform is good at killing a good nation. It would seem as though it were true. If our government operated truly as is was intended to, then we wouldn’t have high expenditures and trillions of dollars in debt. Just something to think about….
