Ideology: In Her Excellency

Illustrating Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as a Visionary Decision Maker.

Regardless of the complexity and feasibility of the program, the administration had imposed promising projects for Philippine growth and progress. This issue is clearly identified in her ten-point agenda. In which, the programs are truly for the benefits of Filipino people, but most of these programs are assumption and visualization of what could happen in the future. We are not sure of where the administration would gather enough budgets for her programs. Knowing that we have external debts and corrupt officials, how would she be able to generate ten million jobs and provide education for all school ages in a short period of time?

Indeed, the program of the administration is a clear evidence of her vision of boosting the economic stand of the country worldwide. Without thinking the status of the Filipino people and without close examination of facts and practicality of the program, she strictly imposed higher VAT. This is in midst of economic crisis where millions of Filipinos are working abroad. She even instilled her programs with confidence and belief of attaining them before her administration ends.

Another concrete evidence of her decision-making strategy was her impended plan for charter change. It is an attempt to extend her term in power and further clip our civil liberties and sovereignty. She wanted the Filipinos not to pressure or hurry her in making her programs, so she assumed to extend her administration. It is supposed that she will be able to attain her goals and objectives given additional time frame in prolonging her Excellency as the President.

On the other hand, with regards to Philippine Military battle against ABU SAYYAF, the administration wanted the civil protectors to get rid of those terrorists in shortest desirable time possible. It is a replica of fast moving, interesting and concise presentation/job that a visionary decision maker would prefer.

The entire inscription proves the administrations’ strategy of decision-making. It serves as guideposts of her stand as a visionary decision maker. It adheres to her beliefs, principles and philosophies rooted in her dreams and ambitions of making the Philippines progressive, stable and economical. In addition, she aligned with success stories of countries like US and Japan. Her decisions are envisioned to lead with idealism and thoughts of wisdom neglecting the consensus, analytical and practical side of the decision.
