Interview – Official: Libya Want to Free The Oil Sector
Omar Alchukmak Vice Chairman of the Department of Finance and the Interim National Council oil Libyan ruler, told Reuters on Monday that he will be freed the oil sector in Libya under the new government and the companies will be a greater role with respect to exploration activities, projects and operations.

Alchukmak said in an interview, “We want to remove restrictions that impede the administration to provide greater opportunity for development and young people.”
He added that he would ask the individual companies to report quarterly to obtain approval from the National Oil Corporation, but will have the ultimate freedom in implementing their own strategies.
“It will be the NOC responsible for assessing the plans and is not implemented.”
But he added that sales of Libya’s light sweet crude oil is low sulfur will remain in the hands of one party. He said the decision to assign sales to a new marketing company or one department within the National Oil Corporation is still under study.
He added that the Persian Gulf’s oil and is located in Benghazi would respect contracts and commitments made during the war, but the final control will be delivered to a central point once the period of the agreements.
Alchukmak is not expected to take over the oil ministry responsibilities relating to any strategy or planning is currently borne by the national institution.
He said the ministry is ready to review the issues raised against the directors of oil companies accused of supporting the ousted regime of leader Muammar Gaddafi during the war and the use of its resources to supply the forces loyal to Gaddafi.
“The door is open to all employees to provide all the evidence in their possession,” he said, adding that it should review any documents in the framework of a broader investigation.
Systems and workers in the oil sector demonstrations over the previous weeks, refusing to work until the sacking of managers perceived as being fought by the Gaddafi regime and benefited from for decades.
The Alchukmak that Libya is seeking to recover about six billion dollars worth of bills not paid by international oil companies in return for shipments in the period from January to March and said that was among the first tasks assigned to a committee of experts of the National Oil Corporation
