John M Mchugh: President Obama’s Pick
President Obama’s pick for the Secretary of the Army.
On June 2nd 2009 president Obama announced his pick for the Secretary of the Army. A Republican from the state of New York by the name of John M. McHugh, who serves the 23 rd District of New York in the House of Representatives. Will this nomination go smoothly only time will tell, but his stand on some key issues should help to bolster President Obama’s stand on the war on terror.

Not only is he a strong supportor on the war on terror but his view of tax cuts, credits to indivduals and small bussiness owners might also help President Obama finally be the President who actually can achieve what so many have promised yet failed to provide. For as we all know the daunting task of providing affordable healthcare to all americans, not just the rich and powerful, has been elusive a task to many a Presidents before President Obama.
John M. McHugh’s hometown of Watertown New York can be proud of their hometown hero, for it is no easy task to be nominated to any of the cabinet members of a sitting President. Hopefully John M. McHugh’s Congressional career can and will help him forge through the political partisanship to help guide President Obama through these rocky times. Having 16 years serving on the House Armed Services Committe should help this nomination to lead our nations military in the fight on terror, yet helping to better arm our brave soldiers with the latest advancments in military gear.
Time will only tell if John M. McHugh is the right choice or not. Will he be an active key role in helping President Obama achive an end to the war in Iraq yet at the same time acheiving a reformed health care plan? For now all we can do is wait and watch as the next few days of hearings and confirmations will tell the tell for John M. McHugh.
