Meryl Streep Get Award in Berlin for Her Life’s Work
Meryl Streep will be honored with an award for her life times work at the Berlin Film Festival in February. Film star’s latest film "The Iron Lady" will appear at the festival which is held in the German capital between 9th and 19th February, writes film site Deadline Hollywood.
Meryl Streep will be honored with an award for her life times work at the Berlin Film Festival in February. The movie star’s latest film “The Iron Lady” will appear at the festival which is held in the German capital between 9th and 19th February, writes film site Deadline Hollywood.
In the film Meryl Streep plays Britain’s former Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher – The Iron lady.
Several of the star’s major films over the years will be shown during the festival.
Streep made her professional stage debut in 1971’s The Playboy of Seville, before her screen debut in the television movie The Deadliest Season in 1977. In that same year, she made her film debut with Julia. Both critical and commercial success came quickly with roles in The Deer Hunter (1978) and Kramer vs. Kramer (1979), the former giving Streep her first Oscar nomination and the latter her first win. She later won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Sophie’s Choice (1982).
