My Role in Nation &Ndash; Building
This is about my role in nation-building amid the problems that my country is facing in the current scene.
According to Benjamin Disraeli, “The youth of a nation are the trustees of posterity.” I am exactly, one of them. Amid the problems that our country is facing today, as one of the proud members of the youth, I believe that I am one of the lights of our country and I remain optimistic towards reaching the peak of prosperity. For the betterment of our nation, it must all start within me.
We, Filipinos, settlers of our beloved Philippines, have been greatly affected by the undetermined progress of our nation. There have been problems from the past, continue in the present, to be continued in the future if not solved. The fluctuating trend of the country’s economy has been helpless to majority and the likes of Reproductive Health and Divorce Bills worsen the situation.
Are we just going to leave these problems hanging in mid-air and let it rust as time passes by? No.
There are thousands of ways to contribute to the solutions of our crumbling nation’s problems and I have formulated my own. I must be a good son to my parents. I must be a good student who is expected to conduct myself with dignity and deportment at all times both on and off the campus and upholds the moral standards of the college. I must have the right values and behavior towards dealing with others.
With relevance to what I am divulging, it stated in the law, the Republic Act of 9163, under the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the National Service Training Program, Rule 1, Section 2, that “In recognition of the vital role of the youth in the nation-building, the state shall promote civic consciousness among ourselves and shall develop our physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being. It shall inculcate the ideals and advance our involvement in public and civic affairs. As one of the most valuable resources of the nation, we shall be motivated, trained, organized, and involved in military, literacy, civic welfare programs and other similar endeavors in the service of the nation.
If at some point in time, all these things bested in me, I could be an efficient and effective agent of change for the welfare of the society. I could be a great contributor in achieving our dream for our country. The understated hope of our homeland will no longer continue, because I don’t just provide a pint of my contributions but as a whole. And by that, I would be very proud to say, “Our nation is in better condition because of me.”
