Nine Things in House Cause Lung Health Disorder

Air pollution does not only happen on the highway full of vehicles or when you sit next to the smoker. Air pollution also could find in the house. Household goods such as water taps, printer ink and beauty products can pollute the air in your home.

Exposed to pollutants in the house once or twice might not be too dangerous. But considering it is so close to you and you will interact with it every day, it is good to limit exposure to pollutants. How to avoid air pollution in house?? Well, at least there are nine things cause indoor air pollution to avoid in order protecting the health of your lungs as reported by Rodale, 29th November 2012:

1. Tap water

Unfiltered tap water containing high levels of chlorine and you can absorb chlorine 100 times more when showering for 10 minutes than drink a gallon of the same water. Chlorine can poison the air and gas around the home that cause air pollution.

2. The cellar in the house

When you save a can of paint or other chemicals in the basement, though it is not in leak condition and still sealed neatly, will pollute the air stuffy room with a gas known as radon. Radon is very dangerous and increases the risk of cancer. When you open the cellar, the air will flow out of the room and into the air in the house.

3. Furniture

Cat furniture can be harmful contaminants that can pollute the air. Chemicals in paint or glue adhesives used in plywood products can cause indoor air pollution.

 

4. Beauty Products

Beauty products such as hairspray, cologne, perfume, etc. which sprayed to the body could poison the air by the particles of the chemicals.

5. Carpet

New carpet will usually issue a pungent odor like the smell of the paint is a chemical smell carpet dyes. It can also reduce the quality of indoor air. When it has been used, the carpet can be a trap for dust and hair fibers that can trigger asthma and allergies.

6. Printer ink

Do you ever feel dizzy after scoring a bunch of photos from your home computer? This is because the ink cartridges are emitting smelly liquid ink and other contaminants that are known to glymes into the air that can pollute the air in the house.

7. Aromatherapy Candles

Light a candle aromatherapy good for the mind as it has a calming effect. But now many outstanding aromatherapy candles that contain benzene, toluene, and other hydrocarbons that can cause cancer, respiratory, and irritating chemicals called alkanes and alkenes.

8. Laundry room

Laundry room or space for drying clothes inside the house has been known to increase humidity and cause mold growth. This fungus can contaminate indoor air and increase the risk of asthma and allergies.

9. Household cleaners

Household cleaners are usually made from a mixture of chemicals such as ammonia and bleach which is harmful to the lungs and can disrupt hormones.
