Our Government at Work

What the heck is our government doing? This last election was a fiasco. Sure they got control of the House and were unable to get control of the Senate, but at what price. The Republicans want to give tax breaks to the wealthiest of people,yet they don’t want to give Senior citizens and the Disabled a mere $250 dollars, nor to they want to help those who risked their lives to save others after the attack on 9/11. We the people need to speak Loud and Long. Let your representatives (and I use the term loosely) know what you think. This may be a lameduck congress, but it is still supposed to be a government of the people, by the people and for the people. All we have now is a government who aren’t even willing to remember what it may have been like to live like a regular person (before they went into office), that is if any of them knew what it was like before they made the big bucks. They should all be made to receive no more pay than someone who works 40 hours a week for no more than fifteen (15) dollars an hour. No perks, no special priviledges, no tax payer paid vacations. We the people should fight to repeal the nice little amendment to the Constitution that allow our so called representatives in government from voting themselves a pay raise every two years. They don’t need it. They are among the wealthy that will also receive the tax cuts. Our government representatives want nothing more than to line their own pockets, which they have been doing for many years. People need to wake up and make their voices heard. Our country is in terrible trouble and our so called representatives are the main cause. This congress is not for the people. Unfortunately this will not change when new congressmen take their place come January. LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!!!! You must let your congressman know how you feel. Online petitions cannot be used. Send emails to your congressmen and let them know what you think.
