Political Party

It was a hard to decide between a liberal party or a conservative party, but in the end I chose liberal. Yes, the liberal party has some beliefs that I support and some that I don’t support. In some cases I thought that the conservative party had better beliefs, and in other cases I thought that the conservatives were completely wrong. Sometimes I thought that both parties were right.

A belief that I agreed with, were their belief of the “death penalty”. The conservatives think that the death penalty is good but disagree, for this issue I agree with the liberals. I agree with the liberals because they want to abolish the death penalty, because it’s inhumane and cruel. The conservatives think that the death penalty is a punishment that fits the crime. They don’t think of it as cruel or inhumane. They think that executing a murderer is the appropriate punishment for taking an innocent life. I disagree with this because if you kill that person then you are no better than him.

A belief of the liberals that I disagree with is abortion. I disagree with them because they think that abortion is okay. Liberals don’t think that a fetus is not a human, abortion is just like murder. If they think that murder is bad than why do they think that abortion is good? For this issue I agree with the conservatives, because they think that abortion is murder and that nobody has the right to murder anybody.

A belief that I believe both parties were right is, welfare. The conservatives believe that poor people on welfare should be self reliant. The liberals believe that they need welfare and to provide for the poor. I agree with both parties because people on welfare should try and rely on themselves and at the same time continue to be on welfare so they can live.

These are some issues that made me choose liberal. I picked my party by seeing which party’s issue I agree with most. In the end it was liberal.
